FLEAS --- How to CATCH, CLEAN & COOK Sand Fleas - Bluegabe DrewishAF: If you ever want to figure out how to cook something that's a little weird, just watch some of the Asian people cook shit they've never seen before. Most of the time, they'll just fry or sear it for a few minutes and then throw it into an oven for 10-15 minutes with a little bit of soy sauce and a shitload of sticky rice. Seriously. Go check out like Greatest Food Review Ever Show and watch how people cook in Indonesia, Vietnam, coastal African towns, and anywhere there's water.
There's a handful of things that I can't stand as far as flavor goes (like mustard and, somehow, cilantro) but you'll realize how important it is to just get the food you need as these shortages start hitting across the world. It doesn't matter if you think that's intentional or not from the powers that be. What is important is knowing how to use your environment for sustenance when all the stores start running dry. One thing they almost always have is -off cuts. - Learn how to make those taste good and learn how to use your local resources like this dude did with the sand fleas. That could very well save your life, if not just your money.

Neat, wouldn't typically choose to eat them myself unless I needed to. always good to research odd food sources like this for areas you travel or live. Never know if a bucket of -sandfleas- will be the difference from no meal or a strange meal if you're ever in a survival situation.
plus never hurts to ry something different: )

Theres a beach restaurant in thailand that cooks them. They are seasoned because they literally have no flavor on their own, nothing like a shrimp or crab. You have to eat them shell and all. To some, their taste is repulsive, other have developed a liking to them, mostly in part of battering or sessonings.

I-m a damn-yankee midwesterner who moved to the gulf coast of Florida years ago.
The mole crabs I see over here are usually pretty tiny, but I have seen some on the east coast that were nearly the size of a golf ball.
Any chance you could do a video on coquina soup?

Okay, but normally you want to be taking living seafood to cooking them within minutes. So those in the bowl looked pretty damn dead. Did I miss something here, or did you just cook dead seafood? Seems like a good way to get poisoning.

I am a Arkansan. I have lived 61 years, off and on, in Arkansas. What you call sand fleas, is different than what we call sand fleas. Here, sand fleas are little pests that make your life miserable if your human or animal.

Nah man if it ain-t gutted or deveined I-m not eating it. Even with crawfish you soak them in vinegar for at least a couple hours. To each their own but that-s not for me. For survival or bait I give them a -

This dude is a dork. He can't even catch the big ones. I used to get two inchers down in Diego. We always let them go cos they really don't taste good at all. Total waste of life.

Well well well. You learn something new everyday. I have never heard of sand fleas before. And on top of that, it's good enough to cook and eat. Yum yum - enjoy.
