Beaver Catch, Clean & Cook (Boiled Beaver Tail) - Bluegabe H. : We have shot many beavers in east texas. We have to purchase a fur bearing license. That applies to bobcats as well as mountain lions. They will destroy the trees and dam in your lake. I have found a 17hmr works best depending on size. We have to take diesel gasoline and pour it on the den and light it on fire. It cuts off their oxygen and force-s them out in the open water. They are great to eat but like you said the tail is all fat and tendon. It is great for dogs coat and my black Labrador loves it mixed with his food. You have to watch out though when you are around the den or damns because water moccasins love hibernating in them plus mating in them so I wouldn-t have kids around them. Also they generally carry rabies like any wild animal. Keep a snake bite kit with you in your bag when hunting or walking around small shallow ponds. I always wear snake pants especially during dove season. I-ve been shooting a. 22 since Christmas when I was 7 get a 17hmr Ruger you will fall in love with it. Great for everything outdoors as hunting goes.

BBQ Beaver. .
It has a Great story behind it. And can be told.
Back legs and Back strap from a 90lb Beaver.
Pulled every bit of Fat off the legs and backstraps, soaked them in Apple - Cider vinegar for 5 minutes.
Put them in a Crock-Pot and made BBQ sauce with heinz ketchup as the main base.
Spices and a can of Coors Light beer.
Put it on Low in a Crock-Pot and I let it go at 2 am, 8 am I pulled the bones out of the legs and made a sandwich for breakfast and out the door to go do work.
I came home at 2 pm.
My wife, daughter and Father-in-law ate all of what was in the pot thinking it was - Deer Barbeque --------

Beaver head have the best taste, when cleaning or skinning ur beaver rub him down with yellow mustard and ranch dressing and mustard, sprinkled Black pepper and seasoned salt, let sit for four hour In a pan wrap in foil, you either can put him on the grill or put him in a baking pan with carrots and onion and potatoes and add beef broth and just sit back and keep ur eye on the oven until the meat fall off the bones, now it's time to eat. Trust me. BLUE GABE, John from Memphis Tennessee.

And why do you need to understand is beavers chew a Little bit on trees In hopes that in a few years it will fall down and if all beavers are doing that that means its offspring will be around to see it fall and feed on the trees it-s a cycle that is part of their DNA

Destruction compared to whom? What? There are 2 sides to that story. There was a beaver 2 blocks from my house for years. I and my cocker would walk in there and play with her daily until she became a statistic.

OH! I don't think I should be making this comment, per your request, regarding beaver. Eventually ALL men should be required to learn to eat beaver. And that's all I got to say about that!
