GIANT CRAPPIE --- CATCH, CLEAN & COOK ( Bluegabe Style ) Donna: I like to bread any type of fresh water fish in a mixture of crushed butter crackers and seasoned panko bread crumbs. I season the breading with salt, pepper, Everglades Original and Everglades Heat. I like the extra crunch that it gives the fillet. I then just fry in about 1/2 an inch of peanut oil. Most of what we catch here in Kentucky are Blue Gill, what we call sun fish and large and small mouth bass. I do not know what kind of fish sun fish actually are. I am 60 and that's what my Dad, Father in Law and Husband all call them. Mark and I have been married 30 years. The summer we met we went fishing and caught a big bunch of fish. My dad always fillet fish and that's how I learned to clean fish. We caught a big bunch on a Sunday and both had to work the next day. My father in law was gonna clean them and my mother in law cooked them and we came back for dinner after work on Monday night. We had a huge mess of fish. I was expecting to have fish fillet. He was lazy and scaled those fish, cut the heads off and cleaned out the guts. Then left the tails and all the bones in the whole mess of bluegill and sunfish. I went in to fix a plate and saw those fish and ask what the hell that was. They were nasty with all those small little bones in them. You could not get any fish to eat on your fork for having to mess with all those bones. I remember being madder than a wet hen. I never allowed him to ever clean our fish again. I swear he did that on purpose just so he would never have to clean them again. He tried to tell me they were too small to fillet. He had not cleaned them all. I took 3 of those fish and cleaned them and fillet them in less than 5 minutes. I told him no that he was just being a lazy sob. Pissed him off so bad. I took the rest of those fish home and fillet them all. My husband is 56 years old and still cannot fillet a fish. He mangles the hell out of them.

I'm a retired Chef and I'm tired of all these arm chair You Tube catch clean and cook's shoot from the hip! Full transparency. I cooked many a Gourmet meals for many people. some famous, but when I would get home I would cook food like you made in this video. A quick and easy fried fish sandwich on two pieces of white bread with a little bit of mayo sauce. Perfection!

We usually catch em on minnows and bobbers in Ohio, and my absolute fav way to eat them is coated in Italian breadcrumbs with some blackening seasoning mixed in!
