I know this might be a silly question, but I ask because I have never gone snorkeling before. I understand the concept of snorkeling, of having the tube above the surface of the water. But once you go under the surface, is there any benefit of having the mouthpiece in your mouth? If you took a breath, all you are going to get is water, right? And if that is the case, I would think it to be safer to go under without it in your mouth.

Headed there today with my son who has never really snorkeled for anything just on the surface. What do you recommend. From the 305 so really have no clue we do lobster and spear fishing down there no scallops. Giving up on mini season and going scalloping to many crazies in the water lol. just want my son to have a great time! Thanks for a great video and we love cressi to!
