Man that looks like fun! Growing up in Alaska ive caught my fair share of kings but the fishery has been going downhill for 25 years. Hopefully it is getting better but the commercial fishing from Japanese fishermen and northern pike have done a number on the Chinook numbers. I would love to see more fish come in and be able to keep a couple for the table. It is very good to let the big ones go spawn. Keep it up!

Great video, Robert! It wasn't too long ago that you caught your first Chinook with the Addicted guys, and I'm real happy for you to get a fish over 40 lbs, even though you had to go to the southern part of the southern hemisphere to get him. Those 40 plus pound fish are few and far between in the PNW these days. Thanks for the good time, and best wishes from a fellow Texan in the PNW.

Landed a 47lb King on an Islander (knuckle buster) reel and 10'6 Westcoast Tyee Series rod, herring bait, no flasher on the troll this past July in Sitka. Was in deep water so the fish went straight down. Thought it was a halibut, took 25 minutes to get to the surface then realized it was a King. Looked just like yours here.

Got a 18. 5kg Chinook this year in Canada and thought nothing of it; course kings are a protect species where I was fishing and we want big females healthy so she qas quick released in the water with a dehooking tool.

The smith river in Northern california on the oregon border still has 60 to 80lb salmon and lots of 35 to 50lb fish!
Some of the biggest salmon on the entire west coast comes from this river.

Congrats to Jordan & Franco. Good plans do come together. I hope that Shortbus & Okuma are supplying ya'll w/enough supplies to make the locals change their ways. Boat looks nice as well. Congrats all.

I was in Chile, fishing the Rio Puelo last year and landed a 60 lb monster. There is no place like Chile when it comes to fishing for monsters in a river like that!

A little tip for ya. Dont tell the guide how to do his job especially when you have only caught half a dozen salmon if that. Just stfu and do what you are told.

All introduced fish that are altering the ecosystem. Those fish do not belong there. If you want to catch chinook then go to Alaska or Kamchatka.
