Hi RICHARD here, hope you are all well.
When you where night fishing and the bass where working under the birds, you can use 2 shads/sidewinder. Rig a 6inch on the point and a 4 inch 2ft above it. Cast into the birds LEAVE THEM SINK. about 15 feet and then wind in quickly. Quite often you will get a take on the second turn of the handle. Have you tried the Tsumani (Black Sardine. These are a very good lickness to a sardine and are more robust than the sidewinder. As for trolling for small bass, come away from them and go deeper for bigger fish. Downrigging would make a good video and try an umbrella rig for spectacular fishing (it does work) but you will have to scale up the gear a bit.
Tight lines
Cheers Richard

I'm catching up on videos, and I would need an adult (I'm 31) to tell me what I can grab. Growing up in the northern U. S. It was yellow perch (has fin spines) bullheads and catfish (has fin spines, sunfish (has fin spines) northern pike (vicious teeth) or walleye (dog like teeth and fin spines. Now you want me grab hold of some spicy pink eel fish I've never seen before I don't think so. Regardless if I went ocean fishing for the first time I would totally be up for this, I saw in your old man in the sea episode with the two two meter tuna which is great, but I would enjoy this type of fishing.

Well done, It's a refreshing change to see a youngster grow up learning invaluable lessons about nature, the sea and to actually catch a fish too. Brilliant! Beats the 'brain numbing addiction to video games that so many youngsters seem to be afflicted with! My three daughters are all grown up now but we had loads of fun rock pooling and fishing when they were young. Make the most of these days John as you blink and they have grown up! But the bonus is 'taking the grand children fishing next!

That reminded me of when I would take my oldest lad Jordan fishing and he'd shout -let me do iiiiiiiiitttt-
The he took my oldest grandson Ashton fishing and shouts -Let me do iiiiiiiiittttttt! - and our eyes met and we both laugh our heads off. Funny enough seeing that Lynx, he was on Lynx at RNAS Yeovilton. He's been on Gazelle in Canada for couple years but is back at Yeovilton in August so I'll be able take them fishing again. Good Times.

Hi I have retired from commercial fishing some 5years ago, my comment on using 2lures is not about catching as much as possible, the second lure does tease the fish into a response in that they love a chace. It seams to get the required reaction in increasing the strike rate. I now only fish for fun and like to pass on some of the tricks of the trade if possible to others who don't have the time to experiment.
Cheers Richard

Hi john, another random question, I'm pretty much old school I use mono. From the shore I mainly target bass but will take anything that comes along - I have watched lots of videos were the guys use braid with a mono or flurocarbon leader, and I think what are the pro's n cons of braid what's the point. I would really value your opinion. Thanks in advance.

Iv noticed your always looking over your shoulder, would be proper hard to catch u unawares lol. people can learn alot from this though, difficult for many to be that conscious of their surroundings without being paranoid. Course youv also got the most valuable things aboard which makes us even more on edge.
