Great tip for shark fishing (used to do a lot off Kinsale Head in Ireland. Get a 200mm length of copper pipe and sharpen one end. Run the copper pipe in through a Mackerel's mouth and down it's spine to the end making sure the spine is inside the tube. Snap off the spine and remove copper pipe and spine. You now have a nice flappy whole mackerel for shark bait.

Brilliant video mate, was looking for tips and advice ahead of my first blue shark trip this year(ever, safe to say i didn-t realise how much knowledge one video could give. Keep up the good work - oh and sorry but I had to laugh when the mackerel pooped up your arm -

Another great video, are you ex military as your presentation and delivery is very instructional and precise? Appreciate if you don't reply but my gut feeling is you have a military background. Keep the videos flooding in as i think they are exceptional.

Awesome day on the water. Cool to see that some things are universal. We use almost the exact same tactics and setup as this to catch tropical sharks off Miami. Nice to see those blues as we don't get too many of those.

Hi John, do you ever keep blue shark for eating, or do you only catch them for sports? I once accidentally bought blue shark meat in Spain and didn't really care for the flavour. BTW: Thank you for the great content!

I can-t believe how stunningly blue they are! Most pictures of blue sharks I have seen are underwater and they look quite grey, but here those things are electric blue! That-s the magic of structural color I guess.

Who wakes up in the morning and thinks -I'm gonna go fishing for sharks in the middle of what looks like nowhere in a boat I wouldn't feel safe in a swimming pool-?

This is like some kind of workout program as well, I actually thought for a second how sweet that would be to overhead press a shark, its probably inhumane, it's a good thing I don't run that department.
