On our first day at Slate Falls Root Bay outpost camp we fished for walleyes in the Root River 5 minutes from the dock.
It's a known hot spot which according to outfitter Verne Hollett produces vast numbers of fish all season long.
It didn't disappoint as we caught scads of fat walleyes jigging a variety of plastics almost at will.
If you watch the entire video I even had a pike attack one of the walleyes I hooked and almost managed to get both in the boat.
What a great way to start the trip off! Date: 2022-05-08
