My young son Brendan and I had the rare privilege of flying into a remote outpost camp on Misekumaw Lake in early July 2020. Misekumaw is located in far northern Saskatchewan and is a camp operated by Milton Lake Lodge.
With the entire world dealing with the covid 19 virus and most outfitters that rely on American clients to stay in business being shut down for the season, the fact that we were even able to do this trip was miraculous!
I had visited this camp 3 years ago so knew what to expect, but that said I was surprised. The operation is now under new ownership and there have been many improvements since my last trip both to the camp itself as well as upgraded boats and motors.
The last trip was incredible for large pike, but this trip was even better. Pike numbers were similar, but this time around my son and I caught endless numbers of lake trout including a number of trophy size - it was otherworldly good!
