I never believed it but structure is really key in trout fishing even in still water. Yup, wooly buggers are my go to streamer as well. I particularly like ones dubbed with crystal flash and marabou-type tail.

I caught a 23- Rainbow there in 1974! Got em on a black wooley bugger Size 6. I have personally known Bob Jacklin for 50 years. The nicest person I have ever met and fished with.

Why are you fishing downstream? The fish are looking upstream right at you and you will spook some of them. You should be casting about 45 degrees upstream.
