Really enjoyed the format of the video, sharing those little things that make a difference. It brought a smile to my face as so many of those elements played out for me recently. I learned the race track (oval) technique from Joan Wulff. My story of a smile is that I guided my girl friend onto her first carp in really skinny still water in similar tough conditions, yet when it was my turn I just could not get the fly in the right place (no fish -. Afterwards she shares that she focused on moving the rod in the oval and I realised I did not. I use a painting the ceiling analogy - keep pushing the paint brush (tip of the rod) against the ceiling, the wrist snap is a smooth acceleration to bring it off the wall and flick the paint onto the opposite wall. (PS, fired her as a guide and sticking with the guide who got me a super slam of a carp, catfish, largemouth yellowfish and smallmouth yellowfish -)

Great film. Too bad you didn't catch a tarpon. I bought El Pescador Lodge in Belize in 1997. My daughter Ali owns the Lodge now. We have lots of tarpon. You can catch the Grand Slam. Tight lines.
