Another awesome adventure with my buddy Josh sight-fishing for some BIG Trout in eastern Manitoba. We ended up deciding on that lake after some research with the Master Angler App. an amazing tool for anyone planning to chase after trophy sized fish in Manitoba. MASTER ANGLER APP

Awesome video, was doing the same thing all day yesterday. Such a fun way to fish. I put my go pro half way in the water and it made for some killer footage. Highly recommend trying it I believe itll make the view of the bite clearer.

master angler app also has a really handy fish identifier feature, if you catch a fish and aren't quite sure what it is or what the master angler size is or legal slot size/limit its on there which is very nice for fishing new waters

Jaw jacks are best for set lines and trout. those tip ups allow too much time for them to swallow the hook completely even with barbless hooks once it passes the gullet the fish is in some serious threat from my experience.

Did not follow Aaron Wiebe's how to on cutting out ice sight fishing holes. In the crazy cricket Christmas char video he cut out the ice block at an angle for a better view out to the sides.

So does it make it worse that it was it was a giant Brookie? Brook trout dont get much bigger than 25 do they? Looking forward to the video of you guys returning to that lake!

We've fished a lake a couple times this year with really clear water, so we just lay on the ice and look down the hole. It's waaay more fun than using a flasher.

We are not allowed to cut a hole more than 12 here except for sturgeon spearing. We sight fish by laying on the ice and looking down the hole at our baits.

Could you please tell me the road holder you use? The one made of wire that allows the rod to tip down. A link would be really cool. Thanks

Jay, would a polarizing filter work on a Mirrorless or DSLR camera to increase visibility in the water with the same effect as sunglasses?
