Tip-Up Fishing for Northern Pike is definitely one of the most effective ways to target these big toothy critters. In this video we go through all the steps from setting up your tip-up, how to make a quick strike rig, and how to fight and land fish with this effective technique. Princess Auto (Tools)

Great instructional video. I too love the Frabill Thermals for ease of storage and set up. I like to tread a button on the line. That way, if I'm fishing a specific depth, I can tell how much line to let out with out using my flasher or camera. And, the button slides up and down the line to adjust if you move to a different depth.

Hello Jay I know the ice isnt quite out yet but are you going to be using Summit fishings new pole mount on your boat for the summer. just wondering how strong the pole is when moving around with bow mount trolling motor. It looks light in videos. thanks from your neighbours to East in Dryden

May want to take a look at circle hooks. Our group got rid of the treble hooks/quick strike rigs this year and will never look back. 100% hookup, zero fish damage and the ease of hook removal is unbelievable! And yes multiple fish 28. 5, 29. 5 pounders.

Noooooo. Stop the ice fishing lol. We haven't had ice for about a month now and it kills me seeing you still able to be out there lol. I haven't had as much fun as I did this year ice fishing in a long time. I'm ready for next year already lol

Do you ever use live bait for northern? Or do you buy them dead? if you use live bait that died is there a special way to preserve them? I'm from Wisconsin and don't get out as much as I want so I want to try and save money on bait.

Somewhere around the 9: 30ish mark. Hahaha tip-up-cly Idk if it was intentional but I've been chuckling. On a real note though, if you could do a review on float suits I'd really appreciate it. Happy fishing Jay and family.

Only been ice fishing for three years and your videos have improved my performance and catch. Thanks for all the free advice and well done to you and your mate for keeping me informed and entertained.

With or without a closing, a very informative video with great fishing action. Besides, after losing all the oxygen to your brain with all that running, it's excusable to forget to close it out. Lol

Jay, what habitat, water depth, type of water do you look for to fish spring pike? Im hoping to do some in Alaska over the next month but trying to narrow down where to target the big boys! Thanks
