Bass Fishing on a HALF FROZEN Lake

So I found a pond in Nebraska that was half unfrozen and decided to try to catch some bass. I really didn't expect to catch much since the water is in the mid 30s but I figured I'd give it a shot. It feels good to be bass fishing in open water again

hey. this is kind of a random question but I'm 16 and I have been wanting to be able to get better pictures while out fishing. I want higher quality pictures of me holding some nice fish and also of the scenery around the lakes I fish. but my smartphone camera Isn't quite good enough. I don't have my own laptop at home so I don't want to get a gopro until I'm older and and have a career and am able to purchase all of the nice equipment that I would like to have so I can properly edit some good videos. but as for now, I just want to be able to take some higher quality picture while out on the water. I've heard that you can get little lense attachments for your smartphone and things like that. and I also know that there are some other nice small cameras that take really nice pictures, but have more features and adjustments that can be made before you take the picture, other than the gopros, which is pretty much a simple one button operation. would you happen to know what cameras or lense attachments are good and take high quality images and are somewhere between 0 and 200 dollars? any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Flair, now that you are officially apart of Favorite rods/reels. Can we expect some product reviews this coming season. Im a die hard Lews guy, but im always looking for new things to try, granted its not going to let me down and make me cry mid fishing adventure. Im pretty confident in the quality of Favs rods, but know ZERO about the reels they sell

I get that those worms hooks aren't ideal for dropshotting but whats the big deal about using some split shots as weights on a dropshot. Us poor boys use what we have, there is no need to go out and buy split shots, dropshot weights, bullet weights. When they all do the same thing which is add weight.

Best winter technique advice I've heard so far. Just get your phone out and start texting so you don't move the bait at all. So my next question is. Have you ever noticed a difference between an iPhone and an Android for cold water texting?

Ahh Flair never use baitcaster fishing water than can freeze your line because the ice could bend with the line in your real and freeze your reel and they you have to like heat your reel and then respool the line because it's curled

Refreshing to see open water bass again Flair Still frozen with 12- 24 inches of ice up here. Whats your thought on using Bass Plastics under the Ice? Getting a shipment of Neds from Outkast this week, So im gonna give er a go

Your friend needs to get out of the habit of damaging the fishes jaws. Holding the fish completely horizontal by its jaw is not the way to handle the fish. He did the same shit to kiss his fish in the ice fishing video too.

Were you jigging that redneck drop shot rig or pretty much just letting it sit? I have some half frozen ponds near me and didn't get any hits on my crawfish jig, spinnerbait or senko today.
reply

I've done that many times. I've even used a jig for the bottom weight and added a flipping hook and creature bait a few feet above it and caught two fish at once on that rig.
