Sounds like you need to go over the fuel system on that old johnson lol. I've been in your shoes before though it's been a while since I've ran a 2 stroke or anything with carbs on it. I do like the custom jon boat though. Love the carpeted deck, storage compartments, etc. I've thought a lot about getting a 12-14ft jon boat and doing these kinda modifications to it. The idea got kicked up again when I came across a guy selling a 9. 9HP Mercury EFI with less than 200 hours on it, think it was a 2006 serial #. Tiller, electric start, short shaft, etc. Price was really good, but I don't have anything to put it on since my current boat doesn't need a kicker on it. If I ever end up with a small jon boat just for putzing around in small ponds that don't have concrete launches, that'd be a great motor for it. Or bump up to a 15HP merc with fuel injection. Or a Honda or Yammy if I can find one for a good price.

I've found over the years that my old reliable Benjamin Silver Streak pellet gun gets the job done on those pesky pigeons. Throw down a little seed, get frisky with Bossy, and pow One less pigeon in the old barnyard. oh wait, thats people in Nebreska who do that

Im new to fishing but i was wondering how come before you set the hook you starts reeling. Ive also seen you start reeling while lowering And pointing the rod down and then setting the hook after. What does that do?

Those were some nasty looking ponds, but at least you were able to catch some fish. I think it's about time you put a new mercury outboard motor on your boat and put that old Johnson to rest.

You can tell your Johnson is getn old when you have to pull it for like 45 minutes before it wakes up n comes to life. Sad to see it happening already to a guy your age, really.
