Me and dad are towing the kayaks up Rainy lake to a remote fishing area that has calmer water than where we launched. This is day one of our kayak fishing adventure in Canada, are we are scouting out the good fishing areas for smallmouth, pike and walleye. Each day we will be tackling one of the great three predator species that live in these clear glacial waters. RAINY LAKE FACTS Its rocks are from 2. 5 to 3. 6 billion years old. Rainy Lake's ancestor, Lake Agassiz, was formed as the glaciers retreated north during the last ice age 50, 000 to 10, 000 years ago. Rainy Lake covers 92, 100 ha (227, 604 acres) and has 3, 000 km (1, 850 miles) of shoreline. Divided into three geographically distinct areas; the North Arm, Redgut Bay and the South Arm, about 70% of the lake lies in Ontario and 30% in Minnesota. Over 4, 000 islands dot Rainy Lake. Great video. My son and I are almost done with a 16' aluminum boat custom redo. We want to be able to take 2 kayaks on each side of the boat. Any ideas on making a rack system that would hang on the top edge and side of the boat to hold the kayaks? Idea is for them to travel flat, (bottom of kayak about even with top rim of boat, and This will allow for 4 people to travel to remote fishing area, 2 fishing in boat, and 2 kayakers. The 16' boat has a mud motor on it for river fishing and we want to haul the kayaks so that the group of 4 can go fishing together a ways from the dock. Hoping someone will have some good ideas on how to effectively hang and hold a kayak on each side of the boat. They will be up high enough for turns so that they do not dip in the water. Because it has a mud motor it will not turn very sharp so not a huge concern on that. Any ideas from anyone will be appreciated.

Why. Just why. I was up there and no joke I saw 2 kayaks with one bright yellow. And we were wondering, why in the hell are they kayaks on this crappy day. And just to think that was you. We go up every year for pike and walleye but we stay at lake despair lodge. We were thinking about going to camp narrows instead but I think we decided not to. That would be awesome though. Hopefully the dates work out and if I see a yellow kayak, ill be sure to stop by.

Without a doubt, this is my all time favorite LFG vid! Adventurous, mysterious, sentimental, unpredictable, and a happy ending. Justin you are one creative guy! Thanks for taking us all along on your adventures. I just sent my son(22) to Marble Falls Texas to begin his career as a mining engineer and he loves fishing for LMB. I hoe to be fishing in Texas real soon.

This is a dream fishing spot for me. No excuses for me either. I live in New York so I live a hell of a lot closer to Canada than you do in Texas. I really have to plan a trip up here. To spend a weekend in this place, get a cabin, cook up some fresh walleye for dinner each night, and fish from dawn to dusk. man that's basically the ticket right there.

Pike can be a nuisance because the same lures that target Bass and other sport fish also target Pike, so when the bass are finnicky it feels like all you can catch are pike when you just want to catch bass. I personally don't mind catching them because they fight hard and aren't that bad to eat as long as you know how to cut 'em up.

Hey Justin: When it comes to smallmouth in the shallow rocky areas in Ontario where I live, I am a big grub fan. So I imagine the grub you used can out-catch the tube you used, given equal opportunity. You seem to prefer the tube. Do you?

A fellow ketchup and fish eater! Don't know why people dunk them in that nasty tarter sauce! GREAT VID! Don't worry about eating bass. They taste like other white fish. With enough ketchup!
