I'm bass fishing with Carson on the river in his jet boat going after largemouth bass on the bank. We caught a giant buffalo fish on a crankbait while we were bass fishing. The best fishing technique for big bass on this trip was using a frog and fishing in under trees in the shade. We caught Guadalupe bass and some other small bass on crankbaits and spinnerbaits but the biggest bass clearly wanted a frog. I'll show you how to fish specific fishing lures in the river to catch bass. I'll also share some of the fishing rods I'm using on this trip to make it easiest to cast where the bass are hiding. The river that we are fishing is located south of Austin, TX and it is a shallow rocky river that requires the use of a kayak or aluminum boat to get around to the various pools where fish are living. The wife and were targeting shark from the shore and right in the middle of the action my other two rods started spooling out line like crazy, and we both had 100 shark on the line, I get mine landed, then run for farthest pole and most of the line is gone the fish about two hundred and fifty yards out and it was a good twenty minutes getting him landed, my wife is still working on her shark, so I grabbed the next and brought that one in as fast as possible, they ternd out to be red drums one at 41 inches the other 39 inches and they were out of season, should have been gone at least one month earlier.

I've caught 5 carp in my life on lures-in the mouth! 1 on a Rebel crawdad in a stream. 4 on Rooster Tail spinners in lakes. Never more than 8 pound test line. People don't believe me when I tell them though. Too bad!

Biggest bi-catch I've had was a massive, obese common carp on a crankbait while musky fishing the river in VA. I thought i was fighting a state record musky! It was easily 35lbs or more.
