I don't run anything but bias ply on my trailers. Trailer radials are made so horrible and every tire shop wants to sell them because they are cheap. My honest opinion after running a fleet of farm trailers, a camper, and 3 boats is always run the most ply bias trailer tire you can find and always run them on max pressure (unlike radials. Been running trailer for years like this and ended all my tire problems. Also if you let your trailer sit for a decent amount of time the radial flat spots and seperates causing blow outs. Bias will flat spot and then eventually roll out and won't seperate and blow out. You can let the trailer sit for months at a time and not worry about the tires with bias ply tires.

Yes, Yes!
It has happened to me, just like that; and worse!
Fishing trip with my best buddy, pulling His boat that He connected to my truck.
We got about 15 miles down the highway, hit a bump that caused the trailer to come off the hitch.
Thank God for the chains!
But, he had locked the hitch handle down with a pad lock and he left the key at home.
Had to call his wife to bring it to us at 5: 30am!
Seems your luck and life kinda goes like mine has!

I lost the whole wheel on my single axle trailer on my bass boat once. It passed me on a two lane road at 55 MPH and almost bounced through a windshield of an oncoming mini van. I had to drag my boat into a bean field and fix everything laying on a piece of cardboard in the mud. So I feel ya.

That was really cool that you guys were invited behind the scenes at the horse track. I enjoyed that. PLEASE see my other comment about your boat trailer, it's VERY important information everyone should know. but most don't. unfortunately.

I haven't had it fall off the truck but two months ago I had my front wheel fail when putting it on the tow hitch of my truck and the boat came down on my foot. Broke two toes. I'm just glad nothing broke on the trailer and I didn't lose my toes.

Where are the safety chains? A set of chains crossed under the tongue would have defintely made a difference. Especially if it did come off on the hwy. It would keep it inline with the truck and off the ground.

We were heading down the highway and our hitch broke, it plowed into the ground and broke the concrete, luckily we had chains connecting it to our truck, there was a line of broken concrete for about 30 feet
