Do any other northern anglers leave for the winter lol. I unsub every winter because its just a tease. My area isn't cold enough for ice fishing but its cold enough to where the winter bass fishing is horrible. I'm not spending hours in wind that feels like its cutting you, for one dinker, one dinker if you're lucky. Nj has some of the worst winter bass fishing. You theoretically can catch them but its not like your average winter fishing. The big bass are FAR LESS likely to hit any type of lure, as compared to other areas. The bass around here really turn off during the colder months. so instead of wishing it was spring, I just forget about bass fishing for a couple months.
The water of this area is its own breed. Mike iconelli fishes these same waters and he has the same luck during the winter months. You know how every body of water has its own atmosphere. What works, what really works, and what doesn't. For what ever reason, red patterns kill at these lakes. Every angler you'll see will have red pattern baits. But winter they severely turn off for two or three months. Most other areas in winter if you're slow crawling jigs, or fishing jerk baits, you can catch them. You just slow down with them. These lakes are are just different.

Man I'm so jealous. I literally have nowhere to catch anything more than 1 or 2 lbs. Every lake or pond in my area is private, and the only lake I can fish on is over fished so nothing ever bites. I get to live vicariously through my favorite YouTube anglers.

Cormorants are not ducks. Aka water turkeys. They are protected like all birds unless they are game birds. Quail grouse turkeys dove pigeon snipes sandhill crane pheasant crow. Mergansers I'm not sure. This my interpretation from Oklahoma regs

When are you guys gonna release the fishing line. I don't remember who it was but one of the big line companies said that they had paired with the Googan squad to make a line series.

way i was brought up when dogwoods are blooming means the crappie are spawning. then follows the bass n bluegilll.

Put a shelf half way between top and floor. You don't need a level floor for a work bench! You can always level the table with shims or your tools with shims.

Hate to tell you LFG, but that wasn't a dogwood! From the flower and bark, it could be plum. It's usually one of the first to bloom in the spring
