SEVERE Bow Hunting Mistake Disappointed in Myself

I was excited for bow hunting in South Africa but I wish I could take back this mistake I made during my hunt for a common Reedbuck. I think it's important to show the successes and failures on all my videos because it's the mistakes that we remember and learn from the most. Southern: Bad decision but wounding happens in hunting buck fever will cause it to happen more than anything shake it off and keep slinging them arrows you and lunkers are more than welcome to come hunt with me in Georgia anytime.

Didn't test your broad head, thought a 60 yard shot on a nervous/scared animal was ethical, then took an 80, then took a 100. I'd suggest setting an ethical maximum and never violating it regardless of the situation. Shooting a bow at a live animal at 60 is super questionable. It's doable, but so much of that is out of your control. Regardless of how many ten rings you can hit at 60, that animal is going to be able to move so much it makes it unethical.

Awesome video bud, as a hunter/Fisher we've all made those mistakes, everyone I know has made a split second decision and wounded an animal. Even with rifle we need to know our limits, sometimes it's hard to control our excitement and anticipation. Takes a man to admit publicly their faults shows your character, your parents should be proud to have a raised a man and not a boy. Hunt/fish on bud

STOP BRO! Beat yourself up a little yes, we all do. but it's not that big a deal. I know that makes me sound crapy but. a fifteen yard, broad side shot can and dose go wrong. That's part of traditional hunting. The second your arrow leaves the bow anything can happen. Pick that stick and string back up and get after it. Put that experience in your back pocket and keep up the grind my man.

I have been in a situation like that and its hard to look at an animal and see it suffering, thank you for sharing your experiences! And keep up practicing that all we can do yes we are hunters but we are also human and we all make mistakes! Best wishes on your next hunt!

Very stand up guy! Wounding an animal is very hard to deal with. Im glad he was found and did not suffer! Times have changed though. when I started bow hunting. a 40 yard shot was same as a mile away. now bows are so much more powerful and reliable. Awesome video!

I really respect that you even posted about this. You didn't have to, no one would've known. But it seems like it's important to you that we learn from your situation, and thats very mature of you and we all appreciate that of you.

I just wanted to say that Im a big fan of yours and I would love to meet you one day but you need to come to Arkansas one day. I just hope you get the animals you want and get back to your wife and kid god bless and I hope you respond

I've wounded deer twice. Almost stopped hunting. My scope on my rifle was out of adjustment. I ended the season with that and next year resighted my scope. BUT that being said. I really HATE trophy hunting on safaris. I hate this.

First, I very much enjoy your videos. Next, I was very disappointed seeing you take those shots! It's a BOW not a rifle. In reality any shot over 40yards is on the unethical side. 50 is streaching it!
