Casting a Huge Net in a Luisiana Bayou What did we catch Catch Clean Cook Ft. Outside the Levees Dan: Say, Robert, that accent is a real mix. They have the French from Acadia (Nova Scotia, from which we get the word Cajun. You add the Southern US accent. Then you remember the French-speaking folks got worried their kids were growing up only speaking French, so way back they brought in English teachers from Brooklyn, NYC! Now you pay 20 to pawk ya caw in N Awlins on de holiday!

maybe where your from thats what bbq shrimp is, the rest of the world bbq shrimp is shrimp cooked on the bbq lol, it comes out extremely sweet like candy even with nothing on it
but yah, has nothin to do with colour, all shrimp comes out red when cooked, if it was about colour then all shrimp would be called bbq shrimp
definitely looked amazing though regardless of what anyone wants to call it, i think we can agree on calling it delicious XD

Been following for idk 5 or so years now years now, and this is one of my favorite videos. Not because of the content as a whole, but because of the wholesomeness. What Ms. Rachel (sp) said at the end rings true with the gulf states and hurricanes. It s something you have to accept living in these amazing areas. But the resiliency of Louisianans, Floridians and Mississippians when disaster strikes is incomparable. Cheers DMFD

I liked the people from Louisiana! They were very humble and down to earth! I sure would have loved to have a taste of those Bar-B-Cued Shrimp! I thought we weren't supposed to eat Bay Leaves? Sure you can cook with them, but I've been told not to eat the leaves!

I was in Braithwaite when Katrina hit it was devastating my house ended up about 500 yards down the bayou but yes I've lived in St Bernard Parish for 7 years of my life and it was the best time of my life to hunt and fishing is phenomenal out there

Spent 2 years at Ft. Polk. You can move to any state and claim residence. You can't move to Louisiana and claim Cajun. It's a DNA thing! Best food, best music and best people I ever met. Only those people would put seafood in an omelette!

When I seen that big net and seen you was in Louisiana my 1st thought was you gonna hang that thing up. I can't wait to see how this goes because I've lived down here my whole life and lost more nets then I care to admit. LOL

Fun video Rob. I follow Outside the Levees as well. We catch shrimp with our cast nets this time of the year in our bayous here in south Mississippi as well. Good folks you are hanging out with there.

I m a S. E. Tennessee native and was lucky enough to live in Louisiana in the early nineties, and the people there were ALL some of the nicest, most generous and gracious folks I ve ever met.

Robert I've seen men and ladies over seas throw huge cast nets, while I'm the military, I've only been able to throw a 6 ft net, for bait, I love this video as one of my favorite, thank you so much
