Marabou is an awesome material. Marabou jigs are a timeless lure. Marabou is still a major component to many of the most successful fly patterns past and present. No synthetic material breathes and undulates like marabou does in the water.
A gentle twitch will cause undulation in the marabou fibers, so its a great material for lures with slow presentations as well as fast ones.
Here in the PNW larger heavier marabou jigs are a mainstay lure for salmon and steelhead as well as bass.

First time fishing with a baitcaster today, did some practicing with it and tangled 3 times. But never had such fun fishing!

I use balance leeches fly fishing for bass and catch giants. It's the same idea except for the balance leech is a slower presentation. It's crazy how many giants I've crushed on them.
