Big fan of yours scott always have been. Cant believe your buddy got blocked like that in the tourney not cool at all! I personally have not seen people act like that there and im flabbergasted by it to be honest! Angers me! I live up near lake champlain south about 25 miles away and love fishing the local tourneys up here! I have few slob spots too! But i dont go far north and sight fish these giant smallies like you do and alot of other guys i know do, but it looks like alot of fun! I stay in the ticonderoga area mainly from the crown point bridge area south all the way to south bay and i mainly fish for largemouths. I have had alot of 18-20 pound bags down there too. But i know what you mean sometimes we stayed in areas too long and that can hurt you sometimes. One year i slayed them during practice down towards south bay and we caught alot of 4+ pounders but on tourney day we went a little further north instead because we have done good in the past in this one spot but what a mistake we wasted alot of time and towards the end we went to my practice spot and caught all of our good fish there and then ran out of time ughh. Trust your gut and stick to areas you know were good during practice. We still pulled out 3rd place that day and placed in the money but we could have done way better. Also wow a guy had a 6. 15 that day pretty much a 7 pounder for lunker! Insane! Biggest bass i have seen caught out of lake champlain in a tourney anyways. Wish you the best up here man! Hopefully someday i can be a non boater in a tourney with you! Def a dream of mine! Fish on!

AS professionals you have to understand the way some people see tournaments I am sure it was not directed at Tyler personally but I live on a lake and we had world class bass fishing untill tournaments started now we have at best ok fishing the tournaments disrupt the fish people do not take them back to where they were caught etc etc a lot of us locals have talked about it and we live here the pros move on the the next lake it is not a option for everyone, so I am sorry that happened to Tyler I am sure he is a fine young man but when you attach a money amount to any species of animal or fish then it brings out the worst in some people as pros you guys have to expect some of this. when each and every bass tournament is run like MLF then I think we will be on our way to having a much more understanding public, also there are only so many good spots.

I really appreciate you doing these 20-20 post-tournament reviews and sharing them with us. More importantly, actually admitting and confessing that their were a few things you could have done better instead of just blaming it on the lake, the weather, etc. What is so great about this is hearing you talk about some possible mistakes you made always makes me evaluate and reflect on my own fishing. Invariably something you identify as something you wish you had done better, I realize is something I am frequently guilty of too. So it makes me think and change my ways/habits and thereby hopefully improve.

Rule# 20. TRUTH VERIFICATION TEST Each contestant agrees to submit, by signature on the tournament entry form, to a polygraph or voice stress analysis examination and to abide by its conclusion. Failure to pass an examination will result in disqualification from the tournament. Truth verification tests will be used at FLWs sole discretion, and the determination of the meaning of the results will be made solely by FLW.

Look this can go both ways. If all they did was say No then hey it's public water man. You have no more of a right to a spot then anyone else. Now if they are throwing rocks an crazy stuff. That's a whole other level. Sometimes you just need to suck it up and deal with it. I've been fishing tournaments and have local guys sitting on my spot. I ask and if they say no then I move on or wait till they leave. First come first serve.

I imagine there is two sides of the story but I probably would have done it a bit different than ruin a fishing spot because a pro wants to fish it. I think what I would have done was let him fish as long as he lets me watch and then he would have taken a couple minutes to explain to me how he caught them! LOL Seriously though if your a true bass angler you would have given this guy a chance to fish the waters.

I was wondering what happened. Didnt watch the final day but saw Tyler drop after having three great days. Thought he might of found something good and it ran its course but to be literally sabotaged. I would of called whoever to call and reported them for clogging a drain. I'm not for fighting fire with fire but 100, 000 is nothing to take lightly.

I know you to be a stick. The season presents itself with unique challenges each year. Some you win, when you don't its the shits to know you did everything you could to excell and some one else did. Still, fishin is fishin and that's the fun part. That tourney shit you speak of might see a touch different outcome in the Big Sky. Long is dust to dust.

It's a dick move by the locals, but this also the only professional sport that competes not only with the rest of the tournament competitors but also along side the general public. I don't condone what the locals did but as tournament anglers it's just one more variable to deal with. We've all dealt with it on the water at one time or another.

We knew Mike Long was a cheater back in 2000. When we were fishing bass tournaments in Southern California we would wait until the last minute to pay our tournament fees until we saw if Mike showed up by himself or with his partner. We would go ahead and leave if he showed up by himself, I did this 3 times and guess who won those 3 tournaments?
