Listening and looking to this drama (when Cantebury started to talk about driving boats across miles of dirt track. It was reminded me of the old Jimmy Stewart film called 'Bend in the River'. About the Oregon gold rush (and taking the wagons up river from Portland along the Columbia river. On a Mississippi river boat. Where the three wagons and a small group of Hereford cattle sold to a group of settlers from Kansas. Who had re-settled to Oregon (to try to grow apple trees. Was stolen from them to sell at higher margins. The Hereford cattle in the film looked too clean and well rested. For the amount of distance they were supposed to have covered in the movie. With the wagons being pursued by bad guys (the hungry and desperate gold rush miners. Who wanted to steal the food for winter. To pan for gold through the cold months. The film from the fifties showed the wagons crossing lots of salmon and steelhead rivers. And the plot was a mixture of Rambo with John Wayne. The Harris Chain episode about Scott Martin team's journey. Had some of those plot points to it. Including the herd of cattle. With some bison. The best line in the film by the settler was. Missouri and Kansas looked just as new and unspoiled when he had first arrived. And they must never allow what happened in Missouri. To happen in Oregon State (that hope lasted for about ten seconds. They don't tell stories like that any longer. In the films. You have to make do with McCoy's film editing and story telling talents instead.

Apopka has really improved dramatically over the years. Used to be a dead lake and you could not catch a fish. Great video! Kudos to Jacob and McCoy for the hard work!
