WOW! Android has changed! I moved away when Kotlin started catching on because I didn't like the way that Android was playing big brother and making the choices for what was supposed to be an open-source community of developers. I remember hearing about Jetpack (it was brand new), but we had a completely different API. I do remember hearing about a change in the directories that an app has permission to write in, but other than that Ive stayed away. I can't believe how much things have changed. It is a whole different platform now!

okay, This guy explains really nice. But this particular tutorial looks incomplete. The repository is missing few files. Tutorial starts with vectors and bitmap. So, if you are new to Android development, it isn't for you. The contents of the tutorial is really really nice. I hope, he fixes the issue in his repository :) Thanks a lot mate. You are doing great job. I owe you big time

All the files are there in the repository, make sure you are going to the repo in the video and not the one linked in the video notes. This is a pretty advances tutorial I would say because of all the architecture stuff + firebase & I think the decision to supper separate everything in their own files makes this kind of thing pretty difficult to follow but we will see.

Mr. Kay what would be the best option of creating a website to host a database where 500+ people with varying access level can retrieve or record data from their allocated geography. This project is for the Archdiocese of Suva in Fiji... the entry and retrieval points is spread over 200 islands. The table might have 12+ tables and 200000+ records...I hope you respond

I don't like this tutorial. It's way too specific and detailed. Why are you talking about Packages and animations and Raster vs. Vector before talking about the simple things like -Hello, World- and getting user input and changing output based on input, responding to clicks, displaying lists of data, etc.

Thank you for this video, I refer to it often.
I like Mr. Kay's teaching style and the code
explanations! May I please request a video
explaining the workings, operation, implementation
and use of the multi-thread aspect of
Android OS/concurrency/dispatchers etc.?
Thanks!

For anyone that wants to follow this tutorial, you might be wasting your time. I just realized I did. Go to minute 27:00, he points to a file that does not exist in the repository at the moment. See other comments as well.

You're wasting our time if the first thing you refer to, being the rocket.png, is missing from the repository. How are we supposed to follow what you're saying and accomplish the same tasks together and actually learn something?
