I'm sorry to say this but this was not a good tutorial. The instructor talks super duper slow and he rambles a lot, he spends a lot of time -explaining- things that don't even matter, he spent like 10 minutes explaining the React snippet extension, like seriously? It shouldn't have taken more than 5 seconds to explain, if that, even for an absolute beginner. I tried skipping parts of the video but even then I had to give up around the the two and half hour mark, and despite the video being over 9 hours long he still had to copy/paste the css code from the repo because he had to save time I guess(eye roll).
I can say with great confidence that a good instructor like the Traversy Media guy, or Kyle from WebDevSimplified could have condensed this part to 10-20 minutes and explained it in a much clearer way. Some people have a talent for teaching, they know exactly what to say and do and always cut to the chase, others are the opposite of that, our friend right here is of the later kind I'm afraid.
I feel like a huge asshole for saying this, here is this fine gentleman making a 9+ hours video for us free of charge, he probably spent a few days making and editing the video, yet here I'm complaining about it. My sincerest apologies for you sir, but I had to let this off my chest.

I'm going to be real, thats about as much or more work to just manually make a static page. To top it off, it didn't look like super fantastic for the effort either.
Can you tell me why you would do something like this instead of just getting to work with react for example or some other framework and just pumping it out?

Hi, I m a bit stock on how to add a modal. In React we have the index.html and I can add a div outside the div -root- and add a modal / overlay. Gatsby creates the index.html when build for deployment. So my question is how to add the modal if there is no index.html during development. Thank you !

John is so awesome man. The guy rolls out 9-10 hour full tutorials for absolutely free. I just recently finished this full course on udemy. It's full of real world projects. Loved it!

I wonder how they decided on the name of the project...
Devs: we need a Great name for our static website generator...
Team member who's a Fitzgerald fan: leave it with me.
