Easy fix: Stop buying 30-series cards completely. Give up on it. Let the scalpers eat the high cost zero return. Don't buy used from miners when the 40-series comes out either. Let the miners eat that cost and not recover any part of it. Force them to essentially 'pay' extra running old, out-classed 30-series that will be less efficient than 40-series. This is the only way things even approach normal again, ever.
There will be no relief from the (fake) chip shortage ever. They will just push that it'll get back towards normal in 20xx forward every time to maximize profits since consumers have proven they will pay almost anything. Prices won't go down till there is a VAST surplus. If that is never created, prices will never go down, only up.

Wow. You people are funny. Hey Steve. Why don't you mention the benefits you get from BBY for it? 2 year warranties on everything INCLUDING APPLECARE ON APPLE DEVICES. 60 day return policies on everything. No restocking fees on anything. Free tech support on everything. You get discounts on almost everything in the store. You get earlier access to prereleases. You make it sound like you have to pay 200 and you get nothing for it. There are literlly 1000s of retailers out there. If non of that will benefit you, than shop somewhere else. Your bias is showing again and using click bait and shock to get views. God, you buy one macbook and the 200 is less than the cost of applecare direct. Chill out, and actually report stuff.

That greedy move by Best Buy is a prime example of why people hate capitalism. You know, during a state of emergency in places like Florida after a natural disaster, it s illegal to price gouge customers on limited stock items like bottled waters and non perishable foods. I think something like this needs to be broadened to encompass all companies to prevent price gouging to consumers. The entire supply and demand nonsense surrounding the 30 series cards is why I m still proudly rocking my 2080Ti. F these companies.

gamers nexus - coming from the corporate world I can tell you why so many of neweggs exec team is newer. I believe that Wall Street is doing its best to strip mine the component market of all its value, similar to what it did with video games, comic books, agriculture, etc. as a result, they often pull in as many corporate drones as possible and put them in executive level positions to extract every ounce of value from a company. These positions often cycle through executives once every couple of years

If newegg wanted to do the GPU bundles RIGHT... They would make you buy a mobo, ram, cpu, psu and case. But all the extras would be your choice. Not the shitty mobo or psu they want to unload but have selection boxes for you to choose all the stuff YOU want in the GPU bundle. and every item in each category need to be in each selection box. I'd do that, but it has to be each part I CHOOSE for my PC. Like this to the top people so Newegg will see it. Right now is the time to be heard.

Totaltech membership is a lot more than just a ticket to possibly purchase GPUs or Consoles. On every Apple item you get free apple care, you can return any item without being charged the restocking fee, longer period to return something, free extended warranties, and other things that I'm forgetting and havent used.
Honestly, it's paid itself over multiple times already, and yes why shouldn't I get priority to buy a console and GPU if I'm already a valued customer for Best Buy

Private efforts to expose issues in manufacturing and retail such as your incredible work with Newegg are inherently popular topics. I see companies and magazines auditing other companies in Europe quite a lot, partly because consumer protection is never as good as you'd like it to be, and these kinds of stories get the audience engaged. I think it might be a good idea to give some thought if more videos that expose questionable business practices is warranted. Good job so far.

I know you keep saying that you dont have plans for GN to play heavily in the SFF space, but I would really like to see a move in that direction. Eventually the minimum viable product for a mid tower ATX box should be high enough that it's just not interesting to look at anymore, right? The SFF space seems to be the most dynamic with the most opportunity for understanding and gains and it would be great to have your level of investigation placed on that market.

At least if I buy a lottery ticket I can see what my chances are of winning even the smallest prize. Does BestBuy do that?
I wouldn't pay 200 for a lottery ticket even if the grand prize was 500 million, so there's NO F-ing way I'd pay 200 just for a chance at a 1300 - 2100 GPU (current scalper level pricing).
I won't buy used/open box, Newegg has taught me that, and I won't buy into BestBuy's shady lottery.
Right then... Amazon & Micro Center it is.
