Scatter plots, line graphs, columns, most charts that you can draw a line through to connect data will support trendlines. Make sure the chart is selected, go under the Design tab, Add Chart Element, and insert the trendline that best represents your data. To format the trendline, select the trend-line directly within the chart and right-click it and hit Format Trendline for more options

I have Excel 2019 at home & this works fine, but I have Excel 2016 at work, and the Trendline option is greyed out IF it shows up at all. And we're not using Excel 2016. Why is this happening?

my issue is that the design tab never shows up and the little icons on the side of the graph never show up either.
