well be showing you how to change Microsoft Words language.
Microsoft Word has an editing language and a display language. The editing language is the text in the document, and the display language is the language that Word uses to display text in the menus and buttons. If you want to change the editing or display language in Word, well show you how to do it! Lets set up a new language in Windows and in Word.
1. We will use Spanish for this example. Before we can change Words editing language, we need a Spanish keyboard.
2. Type language in the start menu and click Language settings.
3. Click Add a preferred language and choose Spanish. Click Install.
4. You can change the keyboard by clicking the language button on the toolbar, or pressing the Windows key + Space.
5. Lets head into Word now. Click File at the top, Options, then Language.
6. Click Add additional editing languages and choose Spanish. Click Add.
7. Select Spanish and then Set as Default.
8. If the language says that proofing tools are not installed, like the other languages I have added, click the hyperlink to download a language accessory pack.
9. Choose your Office version, I am using 2019, a newer version. Choose your language, and then download either the 32-bit or 64-bit depending on your computer.
10. After you save the file, install it. I already have Spanish proofing, so I do not need to.
11. Because we have changed the default editing language, we will need to restart Word.
12. Using our new keyboard and proofing, we can type Hola! Cmo ests?
13. Going back to File - Options - Language, you can also change the Display and Help languages if you installed the language accessory pack earlier. Keep in mind that not every language is supported by Words menus, and sometimes the proofing does not work properly for your particular language.
It all starts with a Windows keyboard for your language! You can search online how to use a particular Windows keyboard with special features like accented vowels and upside-down punctuation.
