Windows 7 Users Will be Forced to Use Windows 10 - Chris Titus Tech Some Windows 7 users think that Windows 8.1 is a viable upgrade path and so did I. Until I went to make a Windows 8.1 Gaming Machine Duck: This is nothing new for Micro$oft. They did the same exact thing to 2000 users then again to XP users. Once they hit their EoL (End of Life) all support ends and we were forced to buy the new Windows. Then they conned everyone into Windows 10 as a -free upgrade- not being up front that it was only free for -one year- then you -had to- buy Windows 10. And unless you have a legit Enterprise license it's -illegal- to downgrade it back to Windows 7. I used UN-X and Linux for years before I ever used Windows. The reason I started using Windows 2000 was at that time there were no decent Video editors in Linux. And it was pissing me off that with every Linux update they tried to be more and more like Windows. So I decided at that time I may as well just use Windows. But now it's looking like it's time to go back to Linux because Windows 10 sucks. I don't know a single person that likes Windows 10.

Did you try installing the driver in compatibility mode. If not than its disappointing to see what Microsoft are doing to users. They are so ignorant to force users upgrade to their crappy os. Face it Microsoft windows 10 is trash try actually putting in effort to fix windows 10-s biggest issues like spyware problems and useless features . I feel like they are just lazy and dont want to adjust one little thing in windows 10.
At this point either upgrade to windows 8.1,linux or stick with windows 7 using an up to date web browser,an antivirus program like avast and malware bytes. And dont go commenting shit like -windows 7 is very risky to use- or -its ended support UPGRADE NOW!!- Like windows 10 cant get infected! Y-all are over reacting about whole -windows 7 end of life thing-.

There sure are a lot of Windows 10 crybabies on here. I have nine computers in my office running Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. And there is nothing at all wrong with 10 once you learn how to install it optimally and stay away from the junkware. Linux simply is too scattered with too much repetitive crap and virtually no decent productivity software. Years ago I was a Linux programmer, and on one of the packager teams, I left because the Linux ecosystem has too much shit and too many assholes. I went Windows and didn't look back. And it was the best move ever. Try developing and selling anything for software on Linux. Good luck. Small market. Low resolution thinking customers.

Pirate old windows 7, the -unsupported hardware- pop up can be fixed by hot fix.
I'm running new ios5 new Nvidia graphics card, all works well. I refuse to be forced to use buggy, privacy invading, crashing unoptimised crap named windows 10.
If you have a good anti-virus system and you don't open wierd doggy websites and emails that cointain viruses you will be perfectly fine.
I really hope next windows (11/12) works properly otherwise I'll be forced to use Linux...

Nothing against Linux, as Iv'e installed mint in a dual-boot - but it's a shame that the only thing we can do is either upgrade or go linux. I get that there are many different -flavors- but Linux although alot better than it used to be is not really ready for the general -lay-consumer-. Or we can go apple, but then again, that's a whole thing with a whole other computer, etc... It's too bad there aren't more modern os's that aren't based on any of these three platforms.

I have noticed before that RX 480 driver version for windows 8.1 is older than 7 and 10. Maybe you can use that, but in the end you might get worse performance than using 7, or maybe you can just try if 7 or 10 driver works. Anyway i dont see the point of using windows 8.1 as it doesn't really have anything better than 7, while 10 does have some things like DX12, and better cpu scheduling on ryzen.

I tried to upgrade my W7 laptop to W10 - it failed due to a problem with the graphics driver (even though Nvidia said all was ok, etc.). When I re-installed W7 Microsoft said my license was invalid! I doubt that legit W7 licenses are available anymore so exercise extreme care if your machine is more than a year or two old. I suspect things will get brutal in January when the deadline comes.

With MS abandoning Win7, it would be fair from them to release it as OpenSuurce and allow people to edit and tweak it to carry it on newer PCs. That would have been the same thing to do with WinXP (expecially the x64 version due to RAM cap).
I mean: if you terminate something because you don't care about that anymore, why not releasing it to the world like EA did with the C&C series?

The More I am forced to use 10 the more i hate it.
My laptop decided to do a firmware update and then i learned win 10 went into s mode as my programs stopped working.
I was forced to create a email account (never wanted to)
If MS keeps this crap up I will use W7 until 10 is in the trash or just use ReactOS or a Linux Build with Wine
