Dude please take this video down. ASAP. Like right now.
1 - You are doing way too many things for this video to be objective. Installing games, packages, downloading more stuff, video recording, and trying to run a very finicky game (PoE).
2 - All of the stuff you did to -attempt- get the game to work (and it failed) is going send a lightning bolt of fear through the body and mind of potential newbies who would stick a toe in the waters of the Linux gaming pool.
3 - Saying that the future is now and that Linux gaming has leveled up when, please forgive me for speaking plainly, it looks like a shyt-show of a hot mess.
4 - When you use phrases (and the body language that goes with it) like, -...its ppreettttyyyyy awesome- and -its soooo good-, it sounds like you trying way too hard to over sell something it going to fall way short of expectation. Don't over sell the experience because it will do way more harm than good.
5 - Please remake this video explaining and demonstrating the steps to get it to work. If there are caveats, explain them simply and directly. If there are things to avoid, explain that simply and directly. Maybe consider doing a separate video for custom proton stuff (if you haven't already, which you should).
6 - If you can get the game and proton stuff working in 10 steps or less and can demonstrate it working really well or flawlessly, then test run it under load while downloading updates, downloading other games, installing stuff, patching stuff, running a long script at the command line that solves world hunger (joke). I think you get my point. Let the potential user (newbie to expert) see the steps and performance without unnecessary distrations and then under a multi-tasking load.
If you don't take this down I guarantee you that somewher there is going be a newbie who got burned, a troll looking for food, who are going to bite into someone who sincerely offers Linux as a viable option for normal and entertainment use.

It's insane! For example in World of Warcraft I'm getting better frames than in Win10 with DX12. Just several months ago ACO was too unstable for me. I'm not seeing any crashes anymore. I recorded a few videos of using it in Kingdom Come Deliverance with the Linux stable kernel, Linux zen (pacman precomiled) and a custom compiled linux-ck kernel all with an ancient GPU and OBS Studio running. I only use Win10 for comparisons. Getting close numbers even with OBS up.

See this video while it has been 1 week that I fight to make work anno 2205 on Kubuntu 19.10 via steam + proton and not to arrive there ...
So yes there is improvement but still a lot of shit too. ..
And then even spend 15 minutes trying to launch a game with launch options not necessarily clear / simple / accessible to all, no, we can not say that the future is now ...
Doing this for every non-native Linux game still hurts.

Since the world is entirely oriented towards windows users, everything Linux requires a bit more searching, a little more effort and has less support. So for me in order to use Linux, it must go beyond windows in stability and performance in order to justify it's use. Linux gaming is clearly not there and I seriously doubt it will ever be. It is always playing catch up, since it's not the native platform for most game releases.

I was wondering what performs the best, tkg or ge?
I'm currently only playing 1 game, and would like to try out to squeeze out the best out of it.
On windows I get 170 FPS in -clean- areas, and on linux I get 140 FPS.
On Windows I get 40 FPS in when much is going on, and 12 FPS on linux.
And yes, this is (probably) the developers fault for having 40 FPS on a GTX 1080 Ti (1440p)...

I mean, this is amazing and i'm super impressed we've come this far with Linux gaming (Steam boxes might actually work now!!) but I really feel like you're bunging this up by having a ton of IO ops and network events sapping resources away whilst testing. No Windows gamer loads up their machine without background processes before launching into to a resource intensive game, its just not a fair comparison.

i installed Mesa ACO last night on manjaro, damn its awesome! I played tomb raider 2013 via steam+proton I cant set to ultimate cause it stuttering badly and after installing Mesa ACO the stuttering completely gone on ultimate setting out of the box! uwuwuwuw....... I recommend for everyone out there with AMD Radeon GPU to install this Mesa. I got RX570 4gb though.

I tried the ACO with NieR: Automata and was blown away by the results. Considering that it was a poorly optimized port and I was getting incredible performance with the ACO, I'd say that Valve is going to strike a huge blow to windows once it becomes mainstream. Why use windows when the game will run better on Linux?

is running -Roblox- possible on linux? i've been trying to figure this out for a while now with no luck but figured if someone was going to figure it out it would be you. i got an older laptop that i want to give to my niece but want her to start learning linux and Roblox is the only thing thats really holding her back

I played League of Legends these days, I was surprised that it ran at the same performance as under Windows. I would be lying to say that there is no difference, but I only lost 5 to 8 FPS compared to Windows. So it's a difference that doesn't interfere so much, it's almost insignificant.
