Had a problem with my restore after trying to swap out a hard drive to a SSD.
The system image restore failed.
Windows cannot restore a system image to a computer that has different firmware. The system image was created on a computer using with an MBR partition. My System recovery makes an EFI on the usb drive. Asking how to make an MBR recovery so I can restore using my backup. I don-t feel like reinstalling Win 10 from scratch.

I think I seriously screwed up my system by following these instructions. It's not your fault. My directories are not the same as what is on this video, and I still have the FAT32 listed. But my question is how do you undo this? Since these steps did not help me, I ended up reinstalliong windows from a USB device. That has not helped. I need to know how to undo what you instruct in this video. HELP!

Can someone seriously help me I-ve been trying to fix my Start up problem for 2 days now and everything on this is working expect the c:\windows /s g: /f ALL is says failure when attempting to copy boot files is that why when I turn off my pc it doesn-t send me back to windows plz help I wanna use my pc again I-ve. Got to -successfully updated NTFS filesystem bootcode- then it says \Device\HarddiskVolume2. Under that it says -could not open root directory: The parameter is incorrect- Then -Bootcode was successfully updated on at least one volume- Dam!

It seems many people in the comments (including myself) are stuck with these instructions because their system partition is FAT32, not NTFS. But no response from Chris about this. Maybe he doesn't know how to deal with it?

Hi Chris, I am about to try this on a drive that has not been recognised after an update. My question though is do I need to change the drive partitions Back to what they were originally. Thanks

Thanks it worked- I just want to notice that for me my volume System rese didn-t had a name and I figure it out by seen that one of my volume had a size similar to your system rese ( 570 mb )

when doing c:\windows /s z: /f ALL it says -Failure when attempting to copy boot files.- (my volume 0 is letter name is Z cause I was watching a video before and my my settings what his were)

It -worked-! I got one error that I had the wrong kind of BIOS, and a few of the commands came back with no message, but I've successfully booted the repaired system! Thanks, Chris!

So at the end if it brings 1installtion system found which says windows.old and gives you a command to either add windows old what you supposed to type cause am stuff can't even exit
