Also, after following the steps in the video, my terminator still doesn't particularly behave like yours: there's no suggestions, no syntax highlighting, none of that. Are there perhaps additional steps you did that weren't present in the video?

Here is one unpopular opinion you might want to do a video on; -Proprietary software is the junk food of software.-
Why do I say this? I regard proprietary as the junk food because it is available right now, comes packed with great taste/features, and there is nothing wrong treating yourself to a little extra every once in a while.
At the same time, have you seen what a diet of only proprietary / junk food will do to your computing experience / body long term? Eww, and I mean EWWWWW...

chris the users should check if zsh actually is in /bin or /usr/bin or heck even /usr/local/bin, worst case they break their login shell
most distros put it in /usr/bin from my experience
a user should run -which zsh- first to show where zsh is located before they run chsh

Hi. I was following with you. However there is one change from what you recommend. This is regarding changing font in terminator. Setting the font in the global tab only sets it for title bar. You have to go to profiles to set the font correctly.

When I installed it I can't use p10k configure 'cause the folder was read-only so I use sudo [file-manager] (I used polo) and change the permisions of the /usr/share/zsh and after made the changes with p10k I change the folder permisions like it was.

Also, there might be a way to sync the configurations between the systems so someone who uses different OS on different machines can have the same settings everywhere. Again, awesome content Chris.

I never got the font confirmation (diamond, debian logo), even though I installed and selected the fonts. So i don't see the option for slanted, curve, etc. what is missing?

I see that Ubuntu has some of the zsh packages you were speaking about, but not all. So I just use git like you did or go with what packages are in the repo ?
