I just done my checkup on windows, and all the facts are in the circular file along with windows, changed everything over to Linux Mint, why, well can't play fallout 3 on windows 10 anymore, can't even download it from steam without jumping through a bunch of circles, but with Linux Mint, I can use my Fallout 3 DVD and load it in, copy all the GOTY add ons from my old steam disk, and play all the add ons, and they play excellent on wine, with the 1.7 launcher. Best it has ever played even when I first bought it, when Winblows Vista was crashing it. Almost done playing it, and only had 2 hic cups, (one caused by the electric company) . Funny how I can go all the way back to when Red Hat Linux V1.0 and still have the data, like my receipts, things ordered, warranties, (you know all the stuff and data you need), where on windows I can't even go back 6 months ago, (I even made back ups - but windows seems to change it backup program with every new edition of crappy windows. Speaking of crap, anybody know where Windows 10 puts the things you download, I know it used to be in the download, or documents section, but now you have to look in download, documents, public, one drive and who knows where else, when I make a scan of a document, or purchase, they seem to go into the invisible bit bucket. found out the only way I can find them is use the search on windows, and sometimes search can't find it. Good work MS, you get the lousiest OS award of the past 5 years.

For nvidia if you don't use GEforce expierience, I highly recommend not installing it then running the control panel app as start shortcut. You can also turn the control panel off as well. I still use per game settings and what not. If I'm playing a new game I try to check monthly for driver updates. If you're playing like a $60 game it might be easier to just let geforce notify you. but I tend to play games once they're already done with their main patching phase.

Hope the surgery went well... One question is there a way to completely remove the option to login with a Microsoft account on Win10 Pro? I have my machine set to login with a local account, but every now and then the dumb message on settings that says something along the lines of 'Things are better if you login with your MS account' (or whatever the damn thing says) pops up. Is there a way to completely get rid of this forever?

if you really want to see what is going on in windows, you should fire up process monitor from sysinternals. it can be a bit overwhelming, but you can apply basic and custom filters to really look at one specific process and what it does in the background.
edit: i just used it last week to pin down a specific .dll that didn't load properly causing an app to crash immediately.

Windows Defender is not enough for average users. I have not paid for Anti-virus in 20 years or so. Every PC I have been called upon to repair that is badly infected is one that only has Defender. I currently (and for about 4 years) use Avast free anti-virus. I am sure some folks hate it. Haven't had an infection or spyware on any of MY machines since starting to use it.

Hi, you've done many videos on how to turn off telemetry in W10, but you've done zero videos monitoring the traffic after you've den that. We want to know if shutup10 really works. Maybe wireshark is a suitable tool. Is it still the service DiagTrack that does all the telemetry, is there a way to completely remove it?

I wonder if this is going to help me finding out why my PC always freezes... it even got worse with Win 20H2, which I only received in March, because when I install it I get Bluescreens after a few minutes. So I had to roll back to 1909, the freezes there -only- happen up to 3 times per week xD

Hi, -You can do what You want with Your operating system...- really.... With windows 10, a crappy, aborted combination of ideas and purposes that do not meet each other? Explain me why a machine in dual boot works without flows on Windows 7 and has got Just problem when running windows 10.

Windows Features are not that difficult to reach, to be honest, you type the windows button then start typing -fea- and press enter and you will get there pretty fast. But in general, I agree new windows settings are terrible. Your run shortcuts are pretty cool.

I'm using Avast free antivirus and have had no issues with it, but it's resource heavy! :P And a lot of background processes :P
But have Windows Defender really come this far that it's trust worthy? Is it equal or better then other free antivirus?
