Life Without Google in Volla OS - Chris Titus Tech Volla OS is a new degoogled android experience direct from the volla phone team. Is this the future for privacy and security? Motoryzen: IF only that Librem 5 Phone was 1080p, had a GOOD ( doesn't have to be flagship for me) camera experience, included a video/movie player app ( ready to play .mkv files regardless of size as long as the file can fit on either the onboard storage..OR micro sdxc card)...cost around 600 bucks and was ACTUALLY ready for prime time. I'd buy it in a nanosecond.
I-m not paying that or bigger money for a 720p phone....You, Purism, are HIGH on something unnatural if you think otherwise.

Contrary to everyone's view here, I use a lot of Google services. I learnt every skill I know from Google and I got my job because of Google. They are bad as every other big tech. But still, I got a lot from the company. I would have stopped using their services if I feel they are a privacy problem. But I understand the ad platform. So I never felt they are like Facebook. Not a Google fan, but definitely they are my favorite company.

I appreciate what you are doing. I killed a sim card trying to degoogle my last j7. I deleted everything that had google in it. I just wanted to see what would happen. I took the phone back to the the store and he couldn't figure out what happened so he gave me a new sim card. The phone did what it could. It lasted about 3 days without google. I was able to delete play store, chrome, google. It was fun while it lasted.

Yap, I did not test Volla OS and CalyxOS yet, but already tested almost the rest of the other de-googled OS-s and the GrapheneOS was the best fit for this purpose (and even the installation is quite easy as need to run just one installation file after unlocking the bootloader).
Want an Android phone without Google on it? - just buy a Pixel phone (3 or newer) and install GrapheneOS, come later and thank me here =)

KUDOS for share, information and Video! I personally would love to ditch Google and tracking etc. The key I picked up on as you mention, run YouTube on a de-googled device? I am IN! :) Maybe time to reconsider and just order one. Thanks again and ALL THE BEST to you! Cheers -)

Chris - What do you love so much about Android Auto? Could make a vid.
Maybe it's just rubbish in England.
I found it does everything badly although that was a few years back. I like Waze and apps like Poweramp for music and Mapleplayer for audio books.

Hi! Are you going to ever check out the valve steamdeck? Since its a gaming handheld that uses steam os, which is a distro of arch. It would be interesting to see how if steam games will get more compatability and also seems like great news for linux gaming.

I dualboot kali nethunter and a custom rom i edited on my Work tablet. This is Google free. My Phone i hardly use except for messaging and emails so its very stripped. I prefer my own rom compared to these custom roms but its interesting to see.

WOW, sure beats my dead and gone pine phone. Thanks for posting - and I wonder why this phone hasn't been promoted a lot more.
All I can say is THANK YOU. I assume the Volla OS is the best choice for basic use - like calls and texts.
