If you gotta have a PC and want something that has a bit more legs than a robust laptop I think putting together a 5600g APU only rig is not a bad idea: You don't waste money on overpriced GPUs but you do get to do lots of gaming (Yes I know it does poorly on the latest AAA games but there's 30-40 years of PC gaming backlog and emulation to go through still: don't disqualify the APU just because it can't run 2077 at 1080p 60fps) and for many people (Probably not in the US but in many other places around the globe) the 5600g is not overpriced at all.
It's not as fast as a 5600x but it's still cheap enough and will enable any kind of GPU for the next few years to run without issues, you just wouldn't get the absolute crazies 200+ FPS you'd get with a better Ryzen chip or an Alder Lake chip but most people honestly don't need or want that. So it's not money that's wasted in case you get a GPU in 2 or 3 years you'll be just fine upgrading the 5600g based system.

A split kb is nice, but not nice, if you work in an office, have school and homeoffice and you want to have a good experience, without having the money for 3 or mor high end kbs... in this case a 40% ortho linear board is really nice, small, better ergonomics than a normal kb and if you build it your own you pay 100$ or so, with good switches and pbt keycaps... for 500$ you have a kb with really good key caps, cherry browns with the insides of a cherry milky -> one of the best switches you can build, a brown with a real tactile bump or a soft milky...
Also, the only software you need is the flashing tool... 40% boards would be useless, if you need a software to change the layout... so it will run fine with gnu/linux, freebsd and every other os, that can use a kb... not like the keychron kbs -> really nice kbs, but f-keys don-t work...

For years I've been using a zero day WIN8 phone that never went online; crazy I know. Sadly I have to join the masses now, so I'm trying an Oukitel WP5. I do wish I could find a debloat for it, but it seems to be working well for now.
I discovered the same thing you did about computers this year. So I did my own home improvements to the three I have, with your help. For the hardware changes, I found some reliable older components from previous years.
Otherwise all in all, this has been a 'holding pattern' sort of year. Hope we get some solid fun stuff in 2022.

What would you recommend for a motherboard? I have the stock r4 aura motherboard and I want to use a ssd for my pc but even the extension that I bought doesn't allow me to download windows on the ssd. I just want something that could help me have a better overall experience for the next few years until I'm able to afford building a high end pc

too lazy video my guy. i wont leave the dislike just because you're linux person.
not hating, chill vid, good advice and things that you talked about are good, but it's just your old info.
my 2 cents about -pc shortages-, i can honestly recommend laptops, they are really nice nowadays, even for video production, streaming, etc.

If I was on the look for a PC I'd get a decent laptop if you can get it for close to a retail price, it doesn't matter if it doesn't come with the latest hardware. GTX 1650, for example, would be great for most gaming needs. I use a GTX 1050 laptop everyday eventhought I have a proper desktop and it's not slought

3:35 politely disagree there. More ergonomic split keyboard options are well worth the money if you work primarily on a keyboard like programming or a Systems Administration job. I have ZSA Moonlander which I absolutely love, but in far future, I would love to try a Dactyl manuform custom-fitted to my hands.

I bought a Pixel 4a a couple of weeks ago. Used it for 3 days and it was water damaged so bad I can no longer see what's on the screen. Appearantly no IP rating means it does not survive taking a call while walking in the rain. Either that or my phone was very defective. Hopefully the warranty will cover it.

I was going to build my self a system for under $1700 with a rtx 3080 FE, long story short after launch i'm stuck with my 2060 watching people spend well over $2000 for just the gpu worth half the price of a 2080ti. My 2060 will be the last nvidia card i own.

Fire tablet may be the best price/performance but it's really not that 'fantastic' of a product. The smaller models have terrible low res screens and the larger models are too heavy. Samsung SM-P200 and SM-T307U, or iPad Mini are better choices.
