hi, i have a problem, i have asus prime b365m-k motherboard with 9400k processor without integrated video card, with asus gt 710 video card! in the bios of my asus prime b365m-k motherboard i don't have the ide or ata selection, i only have ahci or intel raid! when i try to start an old windows xp or w7 operating system of my old pc that has another motherboard i get the blue screen with error 0x0000007b!
I wanted to know to solve the problem and start the system of the old pc without making a new installation do I have to change the motherboard that has a sata configuarazione with ide selection?
or the problem would be the processor without integrated video card that gives me the blue screen when loading w7 of the old pc or new installation of an old operating system such as windows xp?
can you help me solve the problem and recommend a motherboard that has the sata configuration ide? thanks

I read your article and can not comment ....I have an old machine with mother Gigabyte M68MT-S2P Nividia GForce 7025 Rev A3 nForce 630a Rev A2. The Bios do not have option for AHCI, (Award Software International Inc F1 12/24/2010) in Windows 7 all is ATA there is not AHCI. I have too a SSD disk and there I installed Windows 10 without any problem, How do yo say that we can not to install a SO in a SSD without AHCI ? I could. and Windows 10 is running ok--..My Bios do not have any more updates....finished in 2010...Perhaps I will search If I can change the Bios chip?? My mother say Bual Bios 3TB+ Hybrid EFI Technology, but the Award do not show nothing....Thanks

Hi, I have a really old pc, with legacy bios I used your instructions and worked like a charm. At first after I restarted my pc it would not boot, since I'm on windows 10 it went into repair mode and after that I could log into windows. As mentioned I changed IDE to AHCI, I looked in device management and there AHCI was enabled. I have an ssd and finally I can feel the speed. Thank you so much.

Hi there. I am using Intel core 2 duo processor which is 64 bit and supports ahci with sata 2 connection. What I have noticed is in regedit setting instead of iAstoreav for my pc it is showing as -iastoreavc- is displayed but content 0 is available.
What can I do here? What is the major deference? Also when I opened 0 it mentioned the same value as yours -3-which you asked to change to 0.

Can the second method be used if my sata controller is set to RST instead of IDE? I have a Lenovo 256 SSD, the BIOS Sata controller setting is set to RST. When I tried to switch to AHCI, it said that doing so will erase all current data. Is there a way to change to AHCI and keep all my current data?

I did the 2nd method, and everything was ok, but after 2nd reboot it says that my windows is not activated and I need to activate it (Windows 10 pro, it was activated before, but I don't have serial key now). Is there any solution to that problem?

Open: msconfig/boot/safe mode minimal/apply then restarts. 5:00 After you are done with changes, open again msconfig, and put all as normal: msconfig/boot/uncheck safe mode minimal/apply then restart your pc..!
Easiest way to do this..!!!
