Hi, on a new installation of PopOS (BTRFS Partitions), I can't back up with btrfs, I have a message -the layout doens't have - and -home volumes- Did you have an idea, does it possible to use with BTRFS ? This question has been open to github since September 2019. There's no answer. I reinstalled pop OS on BTRFS mainly for that :-) Thanks for all the videos, I completely switched to linux and it's only by watching your videos super well made!

funny thing, I'm pretty new to linux. watched your video here 2 days ago, set it up. Need to backup now because I messed up all my gui(s) of linux during an update that I didn't know was running still(It's been running all night and wasn't done & I force shutdown.). This guide was good. 10/10 will reccomend to any one of my friends who want to try or use linux.

Linux noob here and I have manjaro. Timeshift is on it by default and I have set it to a external drive that I made ext4 partition. For some reason when I try to make manual backup using create button it does not create and says -Snapshot created with errors. Close window to exit- Is it not possible to create manual or is something wrong with my drive?

I don't understand why we would exclude /root. Isn't that the partition where the actual system (installation) is stored, from which we want to make snapshots?
Or does that mean it will create a snapshot of everything under /root (including /home and personal files)? Are directories like /etc being made a snapshot automatically without selecting /root?

Can this be used to, say, backup my KDE Manjaro install from my Laptop, with all theming files, optional installs etc and backup to a usb stick... (It took me ages to get right), and -restore- it to another computer in order to migrate my -perfect for me- OS to another computer?
Or is that wishful thinking from me :P?

Holy shit man literally watched this vid, went through the process and saved. bout an hour later i was -tinkering- and borked it. no boot. i watched this again on my other device. I owe you an adult beverage! amazing stuff, TYVM this noob on Linux violence must stop!

Nice to see, Timeshift is actually a thing. I discovered it a couple of years ago and it was quite some hazzle to get it installed and running inside Solus OS that time ago (I am no regular Linux user, too). Seems like I made a good choice back then.

Thanks alot for this tips, I was using macrioum on windows 10, but I get into arch, I really fall in love with it and I was looking for this kind of software. I cannot live without it because I upgrade very often my system :D. greetings from Italy.
