Fallout New Vegas on Linux - Configuration and Gameplay - Chris Titus Tech In episode 5 of Windows Games on Linux, I go over Fallout New Vegas and why how to setup your steam to get it working optimally. Overall one of the easiest games to get running on Linux and I feel it is more STABLE than when I played it on Windows! Configuration Settings Change Steam Compatibility Proton Version to 3.16 or above Launch Options: (Skips Launcher) DO=(%command%); $-DO[-]/%FalloutNVLauncher.exe/FalloutNV.exe Blue: When I installed new Vegas I just copied the directory over from my winblows drive into steam to let it discover local files instead of waiting to actually download it, and I had forgotten I had it modded. Once I tried playing I figured that out real quick though, but thankfully under the launcher I was able to run the mods I had installed with the data files menu.

the real problem is modding. fnvedit has a bug that makes it stuck on a warning window that pops up when you attempt to edit anything. enb is completely incompatible with wine. nmm/vortex also won't run. wrye flash will crash on attempt to sort the plugins through drag and drop, etc. the game itself works, the mods work, nvse works, but mod managers, editors and enb - do not.

I have a 27- 4k monitor and I like to play games at 1440p. All the games I tried only offered 1080p or 2160p in the display settings. I would have to do some research into how to set up a custom screen resolution for 2560x1440. It doesn't seem to be listed in the pre-configured graphics settings that come stock.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but do you have any advice on dealing with the -Application load error 5:0000065434- when trying to run nvse_loader.exe with wine? from what i can tell its an issue with directories that i can't seem to fix (running Linux Mint 19.2 xfce if that helps any)

What do you write in the startup parameters and why? Can you write it here?
I ran Skyrim on Linux and went through it completely. But in the Fallout, as soon as the battle begins and the separation of the limbs, the FPS sags from 60 to 5. This is terrible and impossible to play.

If you didn't know already, hitting Shift + Alt + F12 at any given time in KDE disables the entire Kwin. Which means, none of GPU's horsepower is being wasted on the desktop itself. That might get rid of the stutters you notice

Linux I believe will pass windows by long ways when AI starts being turned loose to fix almost anything on it. Microsofts beuarcracy will slow things down for idk a few months on their end when the AI I'm talking about hits.

Chris, you like broken games (for this purpose), don't you? How about running the great games: The Whitcher 3, Doom, Cuphead, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Starcraft2 (ok, that one is broken too)...

Hi, Chris. Do you have a solution to solve the mfplat issue for WINE?
By the way, try Resident Evil 2 -1-Shot Demo-, you will love this game.
