Hi Kevin , your tutorial is superb and just what i have been looking for. Have encountered problem though, I installed Power BI but on navigator Load and transform button is inactive, i cant load or transform any file. I was able to follow through your tutorial on laptop but when tried installing Power BI on my desktop PC, the navigator load and transform button is inactive, couldn't proceed to select and press. Tried loading other files ...same problem.

Any chance you could show a PowerBI report and how you are bringing in the data fields from the Common Data Service for D365 business applications?

I was told I need to manipulate the data on the sources file then load but if I am using Power Query to transform data it looks exactly like the aspect of transforming the data in the first segment of your video. Is there a reason I wouldn-t just manipulate it in powerbi?

Thanks Kevin, great overview. I currently using Tableau at work, but I can see the pros now of using Power BI. I have a question, when sharing your visuals to others, do they need to have Power BI installed on their computers and do they need to purchase a license?

Hi Kevin! Thanks for this intro video. Very helpful....Trying to get throught the -Publish- stage, but it refuses to recognise my personal email address. It keeps asking for a work email address. I need a work email address for the free version of Power BI Desktop?

Yes please more. Unless you have one on the formatting data and if it-s similar to excel functions and how to apply. I basically built a dashboard by hand with what I was doing. Not hard but not interactive to that degree and well not doing that again. Thanks.

UPDATE: Was it mentioned there are two ways to access Power BI? I was using the browser version. This video shows you how to use the desktop version. I kept wondering why he was saying -desktop- all the time. Now the steps make more sense!

Hi if I have a data which I want to show Jan 2021 to Jan 2022 upon filtering to January month, is that possible? same as on other month say If I filter to February, it will only show Feb 2021 up to Feb 2022 only
