Great video but is there any chance of you covering the security problem of a local account user accessing Onedrive files on windows explorer on the built-in Onedrive on windows 10? -
On my PC I have an administrator account and a local user account. Files I wish to remain private are in the administrator account and on Onedrive. Anyone who logs into the local account can access the OneDrive files on the Windows Explorer folder, without entering any password or code. This means a loss of protection of files that are stored in the administrator account for security. -
I tried uninstalling the built-in Onedrive and reinstalling it on the administrator account only, but it still left access to a Onedrive folder on the windows explorer of the local drive. I could have left the built-in Onedrive uninstalled and just used the online option, which requires a username and password, but I found this too inconvenient.

I-m looking to create a -shared folder- with a colleague of mine who works remotely (i.e. a folder easy to navigate via file explorer). I simply want a folder called -Z: [Business Name]- where we each can access/add/modify files via file explorer and have them stored locally on each of our laptops for indexing. 2 Quick Questions: -
-Question #1): Since my colleague works remotely, can he still access the shared drive on the network? -
-Question #2) I just purchased two licenses for one drive for business (standard), but is this best solution to accomplish my goal? -
Side Note: I-d prefer not have all our company information -in the cloud,- but I-d be open to onedrive just for backing up data (although we can probably do this locally - we both have a lot of data - or maybe via an external hard drive?)

I understand that if I were to change a line in a Word doc, only the _changes_ are copied, not the entire file. -
In Excel, I have created a spreadsheet in OneDrive and copied it down to my local Documents folder. I have not changed any text in the xls, but I have changed the _format_ of some cells, so that they are now filled with blue instead of yellow. I have waited over an hour, but the changes have not been reflected in OD. If I hover over the blue cloud icon in the bottom right, I am told that OD is up to date. I even did the -keep on this device- bit, but still no sync.-
So where are my changes?

Another great video Kevin, I'm a big fan. VIDEO IDEA: Kevin, there are thousands of SMB owners like me who would like to move our data from our in-house physical server to OneDrive and begin using Microsoft 365 as MS intended, with OneDrive. Can you please make a video showing us how to 1. Move our data into OneDrive and 2. Show us how to use Windows Explorer to manage and find those files and 3. How to backup our data to a 2nd location. Thank You ! ! !

It strikes me that it is just a chance for those with quantum computers or even just supercomputers to read all the files stored there. The fact that encryption is not illegal is an indicator the spy agencies can crack it. The files are at risk stored there. M$ One Drove could be looking at every file on your PC, while only logging ones in your One Drove folders. The only safe way is to uninstall the program, in my view.

Renewing my subscription for Microsoft office 365 after being prompted that certain features would be disabled by a certaindate. I clicked the reactivate and paid for the personal Microsoft 365 option. It Is now asking to set it up? I already have it on this Windows 10 laptop from when I purchased the computer a few years ago. Should it not be requiring me to set it up. I don't know how.

I cannot get OneDrive to back up my Documents folder. It just says 'the Documents folder contains other important folders and isn't supported for file backup'. My folders are all in their default locations so that cannot be the problem. I've searched the internet and tried many 'solutions' but nothing has worked. I wanted to upgrade to premium but until this is fixed there is no point.

I'm (76 yo) just getting started with One Drive. I have a family subscription but have a PC and Mac Book Pro and am having problem syncing the two. Do you have a video that might help? Unfortunately, I have two Microsoft account and that confuses the permission and syncing issues. Thanks. Your tutorials are well done ---- very clear and logical. THANKS

I have a new laptop and I am wondering if I should switch from Microsoft tools, word, exl, ... to google tools, sheets, docs....?? what are the costs involved? and What can I get for free? Hey Kevin, great videos. I learned a lot about 365 which I was hesitant of after owning my own licenses for so many years. I am an -invitee- on my in-laws 365 family plan, with three two computers, one of which gets used primarily by my wife. Can we have separate emails in outlook, but share a OneDrive?
