1. Ubuntu server and CentOS minimal installers have text based menu setups making them just as easy to install as the desktop variant, just less fancy looking. There are no commands invloved with installing. I'm not a fan of Arch either, simply because I like an OS to be ready for me to use as soon as possible and with the least effort. However, some people like the extra effor involved in the setup. If that is the case then have fun. If not, pick a different distribution.
4. Not sure where this state is buying it's software from. The school system I work for doen't pay that much. Not even remotely close. Is that a misprint? Maybe that's supposed to be in rupees not dollars. The hidden cost in using Linux is labour.
PS - I think that switching over to Linux is a great idea as it forces the users to have deeper knowledge about how computers work.

As an OpenBSD fan, I-d be remiss not to mention that Theo de Raadt and the OpenBSD team anticipated this type of Intel bug and already preemptively disabled hyperthreading on OpenBSD Intel CPUs long before Zombieload was discovered. This isn-t the first time they-ve warned against specific hardware vulnerabilities before they were discovered. Even if you-re not an OpenBSD user, I suggest following their work if you-re interested in the technicalities of operating system security. They-re always on the cutting edge.

Nominate GNU/Linux for a Nobel Peace Prize. So many countries contribute, peacefully, to a project that has increasing, if little-notice, become the backbone of the very Internet we all use and depend upon. So much of Linux is free, and is made by people who work tireless, for little or no pay. What else but the Nobel Peace Prize should recognize this peaceful, world-cooperative creation.

I'm from Kerala. Linux is a mandatory subject in the school curriculum .I'm proud to say that my nephew is a -Linux pro- and she can do pretty much everything in terminal even though she is only in 9th grade. Even government institutions are switching to Linux. KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) is running all of their operations exclusively in Linux. As always, great show Derek. :)

Let's pack it up, boys. It's time to give up. There's no way to fix any of these CPU vulnerabilities without throwing away the current design of the ISA. Intel is like -patch it in software when in doubt. We're too lazy to change the architecture completely to be secure first LOL-
Mill computing...TO THE RESCUE! :D

Seeing that success from Indian gives the Linux devs more motivation to contribute the GNU/Linux desktop and hopefully more feedbacks to improve the desktop to enter the PC marketshare. This is why we never !q (vim joke).

Why Are linux distros trying to turn a whole OS into a simple .exe (OS as a Snap). Literally contributing to Fudge yourself, there is pretty good reason why Microsoft don't contribute to Wine.

I like the forward facing cam. Impressive triple monitor setup. What kind of hardware are you using to do this and how difficult is it to set up in linux? How about a video on how to do this?

Arch linux is not to install. If you have already bootstrapped debian already, as soon as your are past UEFI hurdle, you are already configuring your setup, and doing the base install.
