Mabox 20.02 Installation and First Look DistroTube Mabox is a Linux distro that is based on Manjaro, with a preconfigured lightweight Openbox desktop and some specially developed programs and tools. Light and fast, it is great on your newer computers as well as older, weaker hardware. - https://maboxlinux.org/

Hey DT, here is what you do to create a new screen resolution even if it does not appear in the list of xrandr.
-cvt 1920 1080- -> use output to create a new mode with -xrandr --newmode 1920x1080 + CVT output- -> -xrand --addmode -1920x1080- to change resolution in your current screern -> to change for future logins then you need to modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf-d/10-monitor.conf to add a section -Monitor- such as follows:
Section -Monitor-
Identifier -Virtual1- (or whatever xrandr calls it)
Modeline -1920x1080- + CVT output
Option -PreferredMode- -1920x1080-
EndSection

I've been running openbox for, o I dunno, 10+ years now. Hardly anyone knows how good and absolutely avant la lettre it is. It takes some, but you can achieve a great desktop with it. Far ahead of most de's really. Awesome stuff. And this ain't it chief. It's a continuation of an idea the crunchbang guys came up with, years ago. It's...ok. But hardly new or great.

Just installed Mabox 20.02 as my secondary and the installer worked without a hitch. Tried installing the Beta but Calamares froze and couldn't format the partition.
Noticed the initial boot was faster than anticipated. ++++ No SystemD drag.
The repository selector is well designed and processed the change perfectly.
If you loved #! You gotta check it out.

I still prefer ArcoLinux, but this is a pretty cool project. Glad the maintainer has an English language version also, a bit of a shame you didn't get to review that. I can understand a bit of Polish and speak three languages, but really feel all things are much easier in technology when done in a universal language, i.e. English.

Trying it out. But, coming from Windows ... Having difficulty figuring out things. This stuff is what keeps people from switching to Linux. Can't figure out how to create desktop shortcuts for Trash Can and FileSystem -/-, etc ... and setting my desktop to a solid color and not a wallpaper.

I think I like how Manjaro looks more than this. I used to run Manjaro XFCE for quite a long time, and thats usually what I would recommend to people as a solid all-round distro. I'm not too familar with openbox but I cant say that this particular setup seems that appealing.

The tint2 customizer just writes a new tint2rc file under -/.config/tint2. We have to manually overwrite current tint2rc with it. If anyone tried to do this, take a backup of the file first.

While Manjaro Openbox just didnt want to play nice with a 32 Bit EFI, even after replacing the bootloader and its files, Mabox worked after replacing the efi file and the grub files.

Interesting has me caught between two wm centered distros. I'm still really feeling arcolinux. It's archlinux sped up. That team gives wanna be Arch users. A look and feel of arch linux.

Is it even a distro review anymore when you omit discussing 'The welcome screen' for 10 minutes and transcribing how clicking around menu feels like? I am not sure anymore.
