My Window Manager Configs Are A Mess DistroTube One of the things that I have been working on recently is cleaning up all of my tiling window manager configuration files. I know many people grab my configs from my GitLab, and I want to make sure that those people have a nice, consistent experience when trying out various window managers. - - https://gitlab.com/dwt1 - My GitLab

I'm not first. -
Have you tried Wily editor? It is strange, and fun concept, easy to connect to scripts.
About key bindings configuring. Use an xml formated file for key bindings, and use it to transform ordinary config files with the keybindings from the xml file.
This transformation is what XML was made for. -
Combine one XML file, and generat different output from that.

As I've tried different DEs and WMs, I've converged to a set of common keybindings, similar to those you use. Currently I'm using only Xfce and Openbox, but the same keybindings have been set up for Herbstluft. It sure makes navigation easier. At my age, it pays to conserve as many brain cells as possible.

When standardizing these bindings, if you're trying to spread your set of standards out to others. have you consulted with the WM creators getting the reasons why the key bindings are the way they are?
and also getting their opinion on your own set.

Good work on your config clean up. A few people are griping about the effort, but it is really worth it. Yeah, you could use one sxhkd to manage many of those bindings, but the minimalist angels on our shoulders say, -make it happen with fewer apps.-

i found that the keybindings are mostly the same , i3,dwm,bspwm,xmonad. right? you can name it yourself. but i now use i3, i had installed bspwm, and xmonad also. but did not make these 2 works.

For anything that isn't window manager specific bindings I like to use sxhkd for a nice and setup independent shortcuts. For example all my programs, media and function keys etc
