I installed MANJARO BUDGIE yesterday- and it's perfect for me-- just enough -change- stuff to be interesting, without being overwhelmes with crap like in Openbox.. LOVE IT-- except I wanted to put LIBRE WOLF on it-- CAN-T- it 's not in any of the repositories without having to -BUILD IT--- and to paraphrase a movie-- - if I-M the one that builds it- they WON-T come!!- ha.

I wanted to create a chromium browser. But I am not a programmer much of an artist instead. So I made a prototype for the front end but I need programmers to recreate the same UI and animations in CSS to work. The UI idea I have designed is really either eye candy and minimalistic at the same time. Does anyone wanna help out ?

Chrome 1.0.154 works like a charm if, like me, you are looking for a very basic, fast startup, extremely low ram usage browser just to control your router settings (DD-WRT in my case) or any other web-based management task.

Surf has some performance problem - at least for me. And not only in loading pages - they also work slow. But the browser itself loads fast - so when I have to open browser, check something and close it I sometimes use it.

Hey Derek, you might want to take another look at min, they have made some updates to min that you might like. the menu and now they use a current engine that is patched for security. It might be worth a look again.

Some -bloat- is good. Can view HTML code, Can use add-ons, Can manage security, can save files.... In fact that isn't really bloat! Minimal is not always king.... unless you're on a v. limited hardware machine.

imo browsers should use as much ram as possible
i dont get how people want their browser to not cache their loaded pages , or to compress the cached pages to save on ram usage.

Regarding suft being slow... could that be that it isn't using hardware (ie GPU) acceleration ? That would explain the high CPU usage for apparently not complicated things.

It's kinda strange: in the description you have note you're using Brave browser, but it's the same google-chromium based tool that you have argued against in the video
