First Impression of Archcraft OS DistroTube

First Impression of Archcraft OS DistroTube Archcraft OS is yet another minimal linux distribution, based on Arch Linux. It's supposed to be light, fast, and attractive. It only comes with window managers installed instead of full desktop environments, and it's supposed to be unixporn-worthy out of the box. But is it all style and no function? - https://archcraft-os.github.io/

- super+enter not opening terminal. Bruh while logging in you could have changed the wm to bspwm at the bottom left. It has all those keybindings.
- font small, it's written in the documentation that the iso itself is created on an older system, so fonts might me smaller. Option to increase the fonts in openbox is just one right click -> preferences -> fonts
- font setting was in the same menu that you had open for multiple other settings lmfao. It can change the global fonts in one click.
- then finally you found the font menu and it has an 'everywhere' option but you didn't see that lmfao
- the polybar config is different for bspwm (i think)
- win + c closes the windows too along with alt+f4
- the keybindings were written on the documentation, it's just one page bruh, read it before trashing the project
honestly I watch a lot of your videos but I have seen that many times you never read the documentation beforehand (or completely) and trashtalk the project or the developer. This is very demotivating for the developer because often times your words are not so constructive. Same thing happened with instantOS. If I had seen this video I wouldn't have tried archcraft, but I did install it in a vm and it works very well. It would be so nice if people like you were a bit more positive.

I tried out one of the developers earlier Arch installer scripts, on a laptop, and it to had a very very small font. Being on a non-HD laptop monitor it was alright, though, but still rather small. Other than that, it was clean, and used it for a long time, before jumping into doing the installs myself.
I noticed on the archcraft github that he mentions that he has tested this on two laptops -with I3 CPU-, and while that doesnt say much his screen size, it might though. Old hardware usually equals small screens and resolutions. But I do agree, it doesnt really make up for the fact that it for some people is -useless-.
On the github he also clearly states that the username and password is -liveuser-, so I guess he forgot on the website.

I've been using Archcraft for a year now and this video doesn't do justice to the distro. The font size issue that he rants about is not something I've faced when I installed it locally. Maybe it's something to do with virt manager. Anyways, I like the distro, and it has some nice preconfigured utilities which I love. The OS had a kernel issue which would hang the window and the only thing I could do is restart the system. But when I opened an issue on GitHub where it is hosted, maintainer immediately replied and fixed the issue in the release.

i think they fixed the font issue. used it a couple months ago on my Inspiron and it wasn't that bad
but the installer was clunky. rather use the unbeatable double punch that is mainline arch with archfi script.
UPDATE: they also fixed the keybindings. They've replaced the function keys with letters, and mostly uses the WIN key (meta) as a modifier. they also changed the menu prompt to just the Win key. I guess they watched your video

As someone with vision problems, that initial font size font is painfully familiar, as it's something that I've experienced with every new set-up that I've had for several years. Initial font size should _always_ start on the large size - anybody who can read a smaller font will still be able to read the larger version, but not vice-versa. Then make it easy to select a smaller size for those who can and want to use it.

Hey Linux fans. My teenager is doing the online schooling from home.
I had to jump ship and get her a 24 inch All-In-One ACER ChromeOS computer.
It was easy to get a Linux terminal up and running.
But I have no idea yet what to do with the terminal.
It is not worth $ 600 USD, but it is an interesting way to use the internet.

Don-t like the keybindings? Change them. Don-t like the font? Change it. How many times you gotta carry on -oH mY GoD tHe FoNt iS sO sMaLl- we get it. Just change it to your liking and get on with the video. This was painful. You just repetitively moaned and complained for 20 minutes.

This guy always zooms in on the terminal to let us see what he's typing... Now that he's doing a review he doesn't zoom in at all. Or even try. Its painful to see someone complaining about a simple problem. Do you even use Linux lol.

I was 90% through the ISO download when I saw this and cancelled.. it's a one guy distro, I'm sure he'll take the feedback and fix it, but 2 months later the latest ISO available is the same DT used so no.

ArchCraft needs to be installed on the system to properly work., it won't render on Virtual Machines Properly. I use a 1920x1080 screen and its resolution is correct. (I use arch craft as my daily driver)
