Why am I making the switch? I got tired of windows randomly black screening, even after driver updates, reinstalls and hardware stress tests to validate the hardware, long ass updates that don-t work 80% of the time, and devices randomly not being detected by the OS (my mic was working fine, could hear the output through my DAC, but windows refused to see it. Could still hear everything through the DAC.)

15:16 Good news: deadbeef is available on windows too. will be trying that soon.
- i dont like vlc for music either. and
- i dont want to be dependent on Microsoft's groove music player (win - 10)
- plussss, it seems to showcase the audio's waveform tooo? (in the screenshots on the webpage)
this can be so cool even if it can do that for video tracks too somehow

18:23 u for undo in vim
- thanks a lot for going through the basics of vim.
- undo is most important when trying out with any such new software.
- does it show the last action performed?
- like say if i press dd by mistake, then is it shown in the status bar or the like smth like: -line deleted (dd)-

Well heck! I already use 7 of these applications so maybe I should think about making the switch to Linux. What do you think of KDE Plasma? and would you recommend Neon or Kubuntu? I'm a semi-computer literate Widows user with an older 64 bit Widows-7 machine. Thanks for the video. You have one more sub.

almost all of these exist in windows too. what's the point? and why should anyone install office? or gimp? unless you are a writer or graphics designer.
the title should be -a list of some apps some people use sometimes in windows or linux and maybe mac-

I always thought, that free programs are less secure as paid ones, because the company making the closed source programs want a fast reaction when a security hole comes up because people pay for it.

You should have mentioned Krita alongside GIMP. Because of its more modern UI, advanced features, better pen support and drawing tools it is favored among artists even outside the FOSS space.
