Pretty clean result. As an added buffer you could probably get some spray adhesive and a cheap nonslip mat from somewhere like harbor freight, glue it to the bottom and trim to shape. Or if you wanted it to be able to slide around the desk for whatever reason, some thick felt from a crafts store instead.
My last -desk- was an old dining table I'd reinforced into a sort of workbench. It gave me loads of space but had the same issue of depth and distance from a central monitor on a triple mount. My solution was just adding a single mount to the double mount I already had instead of buying a triple. Everything need up on arms that could reach across the distance, plus the single-mount was the monitor I switched between landscape and portrait, or occasionally repositioned for different viewing angles anyway.

I also have a triple monitor setup at my office, I learned years ago that most 3 monitor stands just don't hold monitors in a good working arrangement. II have tried several models and brands. I especially hate the way the middle monitor always ends up stationary without an articulated arm.
My current solution that I am VERY happy with is to use two stands. One dual articulated arm stand for my middle and right monitors, and a single articulated arm stand for my left monitor. I can then arrange my monitors exactly the way I want them, and also have the flexibility of turning one of them completely around to show to someone meeting with me in my office. I am also free to spin any one of them vertically if I want to view a full page document, or scroll through code on occasion.

I thought about doing something similar. I have 2-24- monitors and a 39- TV I'm using as a monitor. My current setup is a pyramid scheme which works well I think. The 39- is centered above the 2 smaller monitors which are right next to each other in front of the box/small cabinet I built. It holds things like my hand lotion, glasses and now that I'm wearing hats, I have a couple of hats in there as well. Keeps the clutter down on my desk.
This is a really nice design though with the wood. I really like that. Although I couldn't figure out a way to get that to work with the 39- TV. It's a little bit heavier than my other 2 monitors put together so that would not work.
Nice video. I like BTS stuff like this. I could see more of that.

HeyIt'sTaz!
I have a similar problem, I have a corner desk and a dual-monitor setup. Initially I got a corner desk because my room is small and my friend was getting rid of his old one, but the mount I had previously resulted in the monitors being really far away from me, so currently both monitors are using the stands that came with them, which works fine because I can adjust both monitors to the same height despite being different brands and models, but it's not ideal because it wastes space and also looks quite ugly.

I also ran into similar situation with my three monitors and desk width. Also complicating it was the monitors being different size and weight. Triple monitor mounts and setups are becoming more popular now as dual monitors became years ago, so good topic!
You BIL is awesome for crafting that up! Now the challenge is keeping the arms where you want and keeping the monitors flush -

Hey dt, for me the left and right wooden parts would waste too much space. I would have done the center wooden part wider and clamp it to the back of the desk for securing it. Hope that makes sense, but this way you won't limit your usable space to the part between the left and right wooden parts of the base.

It doesn't matter the owner of the desk, I would not like to drill in my desk and I think there are few pieces missing for the current solutions, like not wanting to add too much stress in one point of the desk to support the entire weight. I think it's great to have the option of custom items!

My main primary monitor I always have turned 90 degrees right in portrait. Web pages, the terminal, file manager, and documents are all better in portrait, I only really use my other two monitors for video. Try it for a month and you'll not know how you lived with out it.

Good solution. I like this kind of content a lot! If you ever feel constrained by the frame or have a need for more space, it seems you could mount it with the arms backwards clamping each one at the back and then you'd have a clean table front again.

This brings up a question for me. I downloaded your DTOS script and got it to install. I also run 3 monitors on my machine, but I don't know how to move windows to different screens. Can you explain how to move windows around the 3 displays in Xmonad?
