Linuxfx Brings Everything Wrong With Windows To Linux DistroTube I have had a lot of viewer requests asking me to look at really unique Linux distribution called Linuxfx. What makes this Linux distro so different? Well, it tries to mimic Windows 11, both in look and feel, as well as in function. The Linuxfx desktop is built using KDE Plasma. - https://www.linuxfx.org

I don't see anything wrong in there. Windows now support android apps so what? Now u will say windows is bad or its meaningless? In future those operating systems which are compatible with each other will only stand out among others and it is the fact. The sooner linux understand this simple fact, better for them. Otherwise linux will stay the same way as it is now. And if linux users want to get better app support future ( i am not telling about wine) they should know that software companys only realise their app once you got more players in that linux and let me remind you not all the people are tech savvy. So they need simple users too and To make them come to the linux or atleast try you have to give them some similar user experience to them so they get used to it. Later on if they want they can change distribution if they want but they have to join linux

I enjoy your video. It is very fun and engaging.
As for why someone would want a Linux skin on a Windows OS, I can only imagine it would go like this:
Some Windows users: -Well, I want to feel smart and haughtily declare I use Linux, but I loathe change and I don't want to pay a couple hundred dollars!-
Also, as a recent comment pointed out, it might be useful for scam baiters.
Then, there's a conspiracy theory that I can crap out: Windows is losing users (because obvious reasons) and their alliance with the glowies is in jeopardy because of it. So, they created free and open source OS with all the comforts (and surveillance) of Windows, befouling Linux in the process.
It's like the Institute making Synths to spy on the world.

I do see the validity and understand the idea of creating a MS Windows -clone- as so many people I know are completely reliant and brainwashed into using the Evil Tech Giants products and services. Am hoping and Wishing Valve's Steam Deck the best of success as proprietary software creators bring more native tools and applications to the eco system and so too then will more developers climb on board and hopefully keep the ideas behind GNU/Linux alive without too much interference. It would also be great to see native versions of AutoCAD and SolidWorks on Linux especially if they can outperform their versions on competing OS on same hardware. Competition after all is extremely healthy!

It really confused me as a kid, why does everyone consider proprietary software as bad. It was so bad it almost became a synonym. iOS is not -bad- software, but it is proprietary sure. I-d almost argue in terms of quality, usually paid dedicated dev teams write better software than -free and open source- usually unpaid software. But the trade off is freedom and you-d rather lose some features and stylizing to do it. But I digress. Proprietary does not equal bad (poor quality) software.
Although I really am hating Microsoft-s software that-s for sure. I would argue that it-s bad software, but not because it-s proprietary

You say they're not gaining anything, but they could be gaining something. You're looking at it through your POV of why you use Linux, whereas people switch to Linux for many different reasons, I for example switched because I had 2 BSOD in a matter of months and was sick of that.
So maybe there are other people that like the look and feel of Windows but are sick of certain Windows features. Well my Mint Cinnamon with some customization already looks better than Windows 10 or Windows 11 look, but I reckon there are people who want this sort of weird mix.

As I think the only reason to have this kind of distros is to show the power of linux, I mean customization possibilities, and if someone like new windows design could build it on other plasma DE, and use FOSS for that. So you will have w11 like design with FOSS apps. But for sure its crazy to do that. I probably recommend to someone who wants to try linux distro like manjaro, or I personally install Arch and configure system, but never recomand stuff like this. But as I said its just for fun, I mean to show power of linux.

5:10 YES! and win10 not win11 bcoz itsuck and win12 coming lol. and thats what linux developers are. try beat windows, but its impossible. windows is one linux is many distros and in distros many variants. what why? is it hard make one linux and user choose what enviroment and wallpaper? or do it your self debian made so easy install script to do live cd and looking those you see how linux build from scrach lol. take these packets build.....

Windows is so terribly bloated but is very pretty. People want pretty software but they are too cheap to buy a windows 11 compatible system. Wine is stil about 10 years from being usable. The linux ecosystem should welcome this. Soon Microsoft will have completed WSL. Why would linux users stay with Linux when Windows can run all of the software ? My problem with Linuxfx is that they don't include Crossover with their paid edition.
reply

Its the only Distro that I can successfully run a windows program on without messing about with wine/winetricks/play on Linux etc. Why cant it be this easy on Ubuntu/Mint/ etc. I know about the dislike for windows, I too would rather stay on Linux. But some programs need a good exchange interface and this distro does it out of the box. Other than that, its a money spinner for its programmers, not true Linux ethos!

I have been trying to switch from windows to linux for ages now but the problem was i do music production and needed to use wine as i use specific windows based software. I have tried loads of distros like Zorin, Ubuntu AV Linux and and Manjaro and Linuxfx is the only one that gave me 0 latency on vocals doing the same setup. It's also a very smooth and fast distro so i don't care what it looks like!!
