Office 2021 vs Microsoft 365: what's the difference & what's new? - Kevin Stratvert Find out what's new in Office 2021 and how it compares to Microsoft 365. If you want to get the desktop apps for Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, you'll have to choose one of these options. With Office 2021, you pay a one-time fee and that gives you a perpetual license to Office on one PC, so you never have to pay Microsoft again. The price ranges from $150 for Home and Student, which comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams. Home and Business costs $250 and comes with everything in the previous plan plus Outlook and you can use it for commercial purposes. With these options, you get no additional updates. What you buy is what you get. If you don't like subscriptions and you don't care about all the latest features, this is probably the best choice for you. With Microsoft 365, on the other hand, this is a subscription offer. You'll have to keep paying to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Over the first two years, you'll end up paying less: $70 for an individual plan & $100/year for the family plan, which is good for up to 6 people. Also, you get everything in Office 2021 and more, including: - Up to 6TB of storage space on OneDrive, so you can backup videos and photos - 30 devices with the family plan - 60 minutes Skype calling to make international calls - Around the clock phone and online support - Grammarly type offering with Microsoft Editor - Presenter Coach in PowerPoint - Access - Publisher You also get ongoing updates and new features with this option. - Additional resources - What is Microsoft 365 - Explained: https://youtu.be/XGD0eGfKwlE - Overview of what's new in Office 2021: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/what-s-new-in-office-2021-43848c29-665d-4b1b-bc12-acd2bfb3910a - Buy Office 2021 Home and Student: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-student-2021/CFQ7TTC0H8N8?ocid=oo_support_mix_marvel_ups_support_smcofficelifecycle_inline&rtc=1&activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab - Buy Office 2021 Home and Business: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/get-started-with-office-2021#office-ContentAreaHeadingTemplate-eri5pno

I thought with the installed single device version, you still get do -updates- (Like updates to the software that corrected a previous bug or some type of minor enhancement) just not actual -upgrades-- (Newer software with more features etc). ???? If anyone here does have the installed version for a one time purchase, would you mind letting me know if I am confused? In other words if there-s a glitch or a performance problem any software can you still update it with any thing that they-ve put out just to correct the error etc.?

I am considering office 365. The outlook version that I am using is not great I can't easily set auto replies which was recently a pain. My concern is if I upgrade to office 365 what happens to the messages in my current outlook version? I'm ready to jump in to the subscription put freaked out about the outlook piece. Any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me if I MICROSOFT 365 will replace the apps in OFFICE. I've had my desktop for 6 years now and just now realized I have access to office excel. However I'm interested in purchasing mircrosoft 365 business basic. But I don't know what will happen with the apps I have from office 365. Thank You

I get Microsoft 365 for free through my school. Prior to that, I preferred the standalone version. I didn't require many of the new functions so something even as old as Office 2003 was sufficient for me. Once I finish school and I can no longer use 365, I'll probably get the 2021 stand alone version.

I would like to use Microsoft Word to write and publish my books. Which Microsoft package should I purchase? I am also getting ready to purchase a new laptop. So, should I wait to see whether or not it comes with my laptop?

Before I buy a perpetual license, I-m trying to figure out if that will allow me to use the Microsoft apps on my iPad, or if it-s only usable on the PC. If anyone can answer this question for me I-d be very grateful.

Thats what I think. Even in my company out of 500 users hardly 15 people use some advace functionality and we also change hardware every 4 years. So its better to buy once and use it for 4 years for those 485 people.

Unless you're a serious advanced daily-user of MS office for business or professional purposes, then I recommend Office 2021. It's not really outdated and you're not missing out on many features by not having 365.

Hii Kevin, it is really a nice video and I gained a lot. I just wanna know why didn't include Microsoft Office Professional or Professional plus features. I hope you can make another video to compare between these.
